in 2008.
In 1986, Marwan enrolled in the University of Saint Espirit Kasslik in Lebanon. He studied piano and harmony there and during his university years, and he won a prize in a music composition contest. The award was presented to the singer by former Lebanese President Amin Joumayel in the following year. In 1988, Marwan produced his very first album Asak Habibi depending solely on himself in writing the lyrics and composing the songs, and of course producing it. The album was not that big of a hit unfortunately.
Marwan started a new phase in his life in 1989, but not as a singer. He performed in various variety shows, such as Aghani Aghani and Studio Al-Fan, on the keyboard. He continued as a keyboard player till 1996 and played with many famous bands; like Sabah's band. But during that period, Marwan was able to come up with a single, Fik Yamma Balak. It was released in 1994 and established he as a talented singer. He then went on to lead Wael Kfoury's band as well as other famous Lebanese singers as before. This gave Khoury the chance to see the world and go on tour as a conductor. In 1997 he wrote, composed and performed his second single Lasbor Ala Wela. It was not until 1999 however that Marwan finally became known in the music industry as a writer/composer. He came up with two hit songs for Nawal Al Zoghbi Tia and Dalouna. Then the year 2001 came along and with it Marwan launched his first official album Khayal El-Omr. The very next year, Khoury shot his first video clip Ya Shog with director Bassem Christo. In 2003, the singer got his first recognition as a talented composer and was awarded Murex D'Or as the best composer.
In 2004, Marwan reached his milestone. He landed a five-year contract with a major production company, Rotana. He then released his second solo album Kel El Asayed in May of that year. The album and the title song were a big hit and their popularity spread fast. It was this album that actually made Marwan famous in the Arab world and in Egypt. To further the success he had achieved, Marwan released a video for the title song of his album the following month. The video was directed by his brother, Claude Khoury. Marwan released another hit album in 2005, Asr El Shawq. His latest album, Ana wl Leil , was released in 2008.
Lo Taaref

The lyrics to "Lo Taaref" by Marwan Khoury speak of longing and missing someone who has been separated from the singer. The opening lines express the singer’s wish for the other person to understand what they are going through and how they feel. The darkness and loneliness of being apart are palpable through the reference to the darkness of home. The singer then expresses how much they miss the other person and how they long for their affection. The lines “Tell me how things are in your absence and what you have done” reveal the anxiety and concern the singer has for the other person's well-being.
The second verse reveals the hopelessness of the singer’s situation but also highlights their perseverance and loyalty. The phrase "Patience over time, my patience is loyal" suggests that the separation is not going to end anytime soon but the singer is willing to wait. The lines "Neither time nor place will take us to abandonment" indicates that they will remain faithful even in the face of hardship. The mention of a smile that the other person once had, brings a nostalgic feeling and the desire to see them again. The final line, "Oh Father of the Haydars," is a traditional Arabic way of expressing admiration and respect for someone and completes the song's emotional journey.

Cet album est inoubliable, je l'écoutais en boucle à un moment précis de ma vie,une transition sentimentale extrêmement dure, aujourd'hui je réecoute les mêmes chansons mais avec bcp de plaisir et nostalgie.
