τι να πώ;
τι να πιω;
τι να πω;
τι να πιω;
The lyrics to Melina Aslanidou's song "Me Dio Gatous Parea" describe the singer's feelings of loneliness and longing for the company of others, particularly her lover. She mentions avoiding the use of periods or ending her statements, indicating her reluctance to fully express herself or make definitive statements. She acknowledges that she often misspeaks due to her racing thoughts and when she is with her lover, she loses track of the topic at hand, distracted by their companionship and the comfort of their two cats.
The second stanza finds the singer alone, gazing at the moon and feeling envious of its completeness. She admires an old dress from a past dance and is left wondering what to say or what to drink, admitting to being intoxicated by water as she continues to search for her lover.
The third stanza mentions holidays, Sundays, and past memories, but the singer claims to have no complaints about her life. She entertains herself by creating imaginary dialogues and reminiscing about her favorite people, who have touched her life in some way while accompanied by her two cats.
Overall, the song describes a yearning for connection and the comfort of loved ones, even if it means struggling to express oneself at times. It embraces the soothing presence of pets, the beauty of the natural world and the simple joys of memories and loneliness.
