Finding his voice in a school choir, Crawford began his professional career still a teenager. Having some luck on the London stage in the early 60s, he then found his way onto the BBC and starred in various programmes such as 'Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em'. He also had film roles in 'The War Lover', 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum'. and 'How I Won the War' (which brought him into the same work as John Lennon).
Andrew Lloyd Webber's casting of him opposite Sarah Brightman and Steve Barton as the Phantom in 1986 shot his career into high gear. Winning a Tony Award for his role, Crawford also had the aforementioned tune, "The Music Of The Night", reach the British Top Ten. He has released several studio albums such as 'A Touch of Music in the Night' and 'On Eagle's Wings' among others.

People doin' it everyday
Ain't no miracle growin' up
People just grow that way
So it goes like it goes, like the river flows
And time it rolls right on
And maybe what's good gets a little bit better
Bless the child of a workin' man
He knows too soon who he is
Bless the hands of a workin' man
He knows his soul is his
So it goes like it goes, like the river flows
And time it rolls right on
And maybe what's good gets a little bit better
And maybe what's bad gets gone
So it goes like it goes, like the river flows
And time keeps rollin' on
And maybe what's good gets a little bit better
And maybe what's bad gets gone
The lyrics of the song 'It Goes Like It Goes' by Michael Crawford talk about the natural course of life, how people are born, grow and develop into who they are going to be. The opening lines, 'Ain't no miracle being born, People doin' it everyday', suggests that being born is a part of life that happens every day, and that there's nothing extraordinary or miraculous about it. Similarly, the second line, 'Ain't no miracle growin' up, People just grow that way', suggests that growing up and becoming an adult is something that happens to everyone, it's just the natural way of life.
The chorus of the song 'So it goes like it goes, like the river flows, and time it rolls right on' suggests that life continues to move forward, like a river that never stops flowing. Life may bring good things or bad things, but the song suggests that everything eventually gets better or fades away with time. The song acknowledges the struggles that families who work hard for a living face, but also recognizes the strength and resilience of those who work with their hands, they know who they are and what they stand for.
Overall, the song believes in the natural course of life, that everything happens for a reason and that life will continue regardless of the ups and downs we experience.

Why so few views? It's the next best version to the original (Jennifer Warnes)...and there's a few who have butchered it. Love the way Michael "lengthens" the lyrics.
