After having worked with the group of Vigon, Lemons, he created the group King Set in 1966 with his friend and guitarist Alain Goldstein. Two radio successes make known his voice and his talent for the rhythm: an original composition, Apesanteur (Weightlessness), in 1967, and Jezebel in 1968. His solo career began slowly with a 45t at the end of 1968 under the name of Michel Kingset, the following in 1970 under his own name. He has to wait until 1974 to find a large audience with two simultaneous "tubes": Say to me and Super Nana.

à l'apocalyptique tac
les heures frénétiques attaquent
le moral des mortels
Les pendules rustiques tac
les coucous romantiques tac
marquent les heures qui défilent folles
Est-il anecdotique tac
immobile aquatique tac
cet antipathique
Tic tac tic tac
tic tac tic tac
tic tac tic tac
tic tac tic tac
C'est symptomatique tac
on tremble on a des tics tac
le réveil sonne on tique du tac au tac
on l'expédie au ciel
Car le ciel c'est pratique tac
si l'âme est élastique tac
brise la tocante en toc et tac
tu brises l'artificiel
Est-il anecdotique tac
immobile aquatique tac
cet antipathique
Tic tac tic tac
tic tac tic tac
tic tac tic tac
tic tac tic tac
Du paléolithique tac
à l'apocalyptique tac
les heures frénétiques attaquent
le moral des mortels
Les pendules rustiques tac
les coucous romantiques tac
marquent les heures qui défilent folles
passantes cruelles
Boum Boum
Qu'est-ce que c'est qu'est-ce que c'est
Boum Boum
Qui c'est qui c'est
Boum Boum
C'est la mort petit
Déjà...
Tic tac tic tac (ad lib)
The song "Tic Tac" by Michel Jonasz, talks about the passing of time and how it affects people. From "du paléolithique tac", which refers to the beginning of time, to "l'apocalyptique tac", which insinuates the end of the world, the lyrics speak of the frenetic hours that attack the morale of mortals. The idea of time is further emphasized by clocks such as "les pendules rustiques" and "les coucous romantiques" marking the hours that pass by, which are described as "passantes cruelles." The rhyme of "tic tac" throughout the song is reminiscent of the sound of a clock and serves as a constant reminder of the theme.
The lyrics also suggest that time can cause anxiety and nervousness. The line "on tremble on a des tics tac" implies that people shake and tremble with the passing of each second. The song further implies that people become slaves to time, shown in the lines "le réveil sonne on tique du tac au tac, on l'expédie au ciel." People become so beholden to the ticking of clocks that they immediately react and "expedite" the sound to heaven.
The song suggests that breaking away from time, represented by the "tocante," can lead to a more authentic existence. The line "brise la tocante en toc et tac, tu brises l'artificiel" suggests that people can break away from the artificial construct of time and embrace a more natural form of existence. Overall, the song highlights the impact of time on people's lives and how it can lead to a sense of unease.
