Brenda Holloway's version of this is killer.

I bough this record on eBay. It is this record, the actual record in the photo with the date stamp and the letter 'A' written in marker. I guess it's a small world. Thank you for selling it and thanks for uploading the music to YT.

@srercrcr You say that, but have a listen to Brenda Holloway's unreleased version of this song on A Cellarful of Motown Vol. 1 - it's startlingly good.

Is that the Tempts doing background on this ? the track sounds almost the same as the tempts version/. i just bought Eddie Kendricks the ultimate collection. reading the liner notes concerning song Can I, and found out that Brenda Holloway did the first version. Eddie with producer Frank Wilson , which i say! was a marriage made in music heaven! did a great job with Eddies version...soooo much smoother, which brought me to finding out that Brenda did a version of who you gonna run to..i knew only recorded by the TEMPTS, now i found out, some singer named Mickey Mcculler originally recorded it. WOW! you find great music history here!

The original version of "Can I" was recorded by Jennell Hawkins in late 1960 and released on Dynamic Records in 1961 and again on Amazon Records in 1962

Definitely not Smokeys best work.
