All Blues
Miles Davis & John Coltrane Lyrics

The sea, the sky, for you and I
I'll know we're all blues
All Shades, all hues, all blues
Some blues are sad
But some are glad,
Dark-sad or bright-gald
All shades, all hues, all blues
The color of colors
The blues are more than a color
They're a moan of pain
A Taste of strife
And a sad refrain
A game which lif is pplayin'
Blues can be the livin' dues
We're all a-payin'
Yeah, Oh Lord
In a rainbow
A summer day that's fair
A parayer is prayed
A lament that's made
Some shade of blues is there;
Blue heaven's hue,
They're all blues
Talkin' 'bout the sea and the sky
Andi'm talkin' 'bout you and I
The sea, the sky
For you and I
And I know we're all blues
All shades,
All hues,
All blues
Sea, sky, you and I
See the sky, you and I
All Blues
All shades, all hues, all blues
The lyrics of Miles Davis' "All Blues" speak about the blues in different shades and hues, from the ones that are sad to the ones that are glad. The sea, sky, and the singer and their lover are all experiencing different shades of blues. The singer talks about how the blues are more than just a color. They represent pain, strife and sadness that are part of life's game. Blues can be the living dues, and everyone pays them. In the end, the blues can be found in everything, from the color of the sky to emotions we feel.
The lyrics of "All Blues" convey a deep sense of the human experience. The singer seems to be contemplating the blues in various forms, trying to make sense of their meaning. The different hues and shades of blues show that, while there is sadness and pain, there is joy and happiness too. The blues, in this sense, become a metaphor for life itself. The sea, sky, you and I, are all experiencing different shades, all hues and all blues. In the end, the blues are all around us, part of the beauty and complexity of life.

slow clap
...
it went into syncopation with the brushes
...
i suddenly noticed myself clapping triplets after that point
...
then it fluctuated between syncopes and triplets with the 2nd beat omitted
...
i had become one with the blues, the blues had become a permanent part of me, hiding within me when I am not clapping, but always jamming with the beat of my heart

The tension created by Paul Chambers on Bass, Bill Evans on Piano, and Jimmy Cobb on Drums as the intro builds is sublime. What a Jaw Dropping Track!!!!

Agreed! I grooved to that line, that undercurrent of rhythm that was always there, even when you got lost in the story of emotions that the rest of the piece told. This was spectacular!
