Of Dreams
Morgan Lyrics

It was a dream about you and me
I had a dream of things that could never be
There was you
In this world I'm afraid will never come true
And It's you
That helps me up when I'm down and feeling blue
So when I go to sleep tonight
In mind
I just wanna see those pretty eyes
Shining in the beaming light
Be mine
Then a couple hours pass
And the morning light it will unmask, and pull me back
To reality again
I wake up and I'm all alone
I wish you were here but now you're gone, and I'm torn
And you only know me deep inside my dreams
Because I never just got up and screamed
How much you mean to me
In my dream
In my dream
The lyrics of Morgan's song "Of Dreams" speak to the power of dreams and the longing for a love that may never come true. The dream mentioned in the first verse symbolizes a utopian world where the singer and their loved one can be together. This dream represents an idealized version of their relationship, where all their desires and dreams can be fulfilled. However, the singer is aware that this dream may only exist in their imagination and may never become a reality.
The lyrics express the significance of the loved one in the singer's life. They describe how this person supports and uplifts them during difficult times, acting as a guiding light when they are feeling down. The mention of hoping to dream of this person again emphasizes the desire to experience their presence and the joy they bring.
As the night passes and the morning arrives, the dream fades away, and the singer is abruptly brought back to reality. This shift from the dream world to waking life mirrors the disappointment and loneliness the singer feels upon waking up alone. The absence of the loved one is deeply felt, and the singer longs for their presence.
The concluding lines reveal that the singer has never openly expressed their feelings for the loved one in reality. They have kept their emotions hidden, confining their love solely to the realm of dreams. By revealing this, the lyrics imply that the dream world is the only place where the singer can fully express the depth of their emotions.
Overall, "Of Dreams" explores the bittersweet nature of dreams and the longing for a love that may only exist within the realm of imagination. It highlights the significance of the loved one and the emotional impact they have on the singer's life, even if that impact is only realized in dreams.
