What a beautiful home this once was, with so much history behind it. I would love that old stove, and I do hope it gets salvaged. At least it will be used for a positive purpose, unlike so many others. Those Delft porcelain door handles are pretty fine pieces as well, and deserve rescuing. And yes I know what I’m talking about because I’m wife of retired Marine 23 years! There is no master it’s the love of country family and God why my husband and others fought and died and continue to do so!! Do your homework and become educated on why we have a military in USA read the constitution look at history! If that is what you think of our veterans then your part of what’s wrong with our country!

What a lovely house this would have been once upon a time....
Of course I just loved the stove 😻
The bathroom wall paper was very busy it would have made the room feel smaller thanks Indy for showing us around 👍🏻
Another beauty making way for progress, if the house was on heritage listing I’m wondering if repairs would have cost heaps as there were lots of cracks in the old girl.

It's a shame that the very old fixtures & appliances with the beautiful windows and other things that are so old and beautiful don't get salvaged. Here in the U S

@Joe Battiloro I totally agree. I see so much in these abandoned dwelling videos that is probably destroyed. It would be nice if bids could be put out for salvagers to be able to go in and salvage what was worth saving.

I loved this house. Thee were very few renos and it was in a somewhat original state. The wallpaper in both the sitting room and the one bedroom were definitely original to the house. the one in the bathroom was a little newer, perhaps 1950's era. The kitchen and dining area looked to be add-ons but I feel that they were added on in the late '50s or early '60s. Sad to see this one go as well, but there is some solace in knowing the space will provide housing for those in need. Thanks.

Thank you for documenting this one. It was a beautiful home in it's day but it seems location plays a significant role in old home survival. Old houses need to be loved more than anything else if they are not loved they fall into disrepair and they loose so much of their original value that they at put at development risk. Saving old homes requires special owners who care but saving them but saving them is not always possible, like this one foundations and termites would cost a fortune to fix and even the keenest restorer could be put off. Me... I'd like to save them all but I know we can't but at least we can point to a guy who goes out and spends the time to record them. Keep up the great work it is very important.

I am in love with this house, the wall paper, the drapes, the closets, kitchen stove and ceiling fixtures. I can do without that spider in the kitchen by the window unit...yukkkkk! Two of my father’s properties had houses with Rayburn slow combustion wood stoves. Beautiful stoves. The heavy cover on the hot plates is just to keep the heat inside the stove. Most had a water jacket arrangement for the hot water heater, so keeping the heat in was important. Sorry to see another old house gone. The item on the mantelpiece was interesting- and old. The wallpaper and curtains looked 1970s to me. I’ve seen similar in some of Dads properties houses.

That had been an interesting and I'll bet comfortable home. Your right it's going for a good cause, and with all those cracked walls it's days were numbered. Thanks for the tour - kinda felt like walking thru grandma's house. It is a shame that the stove and doors etc arnt salvaged. And I think your right, the Revlon sign was where a front door had been. Fine job again, see you next week :-).

I don't feel as bad if there's damage like those cracks but I just get this nostalgia feeling when I see those old beautiful old places. And what the H was that thing above the kitchen window. I about jumped from here when I finally saw it!!

This might have been a nice home back before all the cracks started forming.
At least the land has potential to be something nice and of benefit to people again; provided they let the ground settle properly first.

Thank you and another interesting explore Urbex Indigo with this beautiful old home. It is such a shame so many beautiful historic homes are being demolished. Looks like squatters were there due to items in drawers that weren't fitting to previous owners of the house and some posters on the walls. For instance that small case with the toy gun. What a gem of a find with the old British Rayburn wood stove used for cooking and heating. Hopefully that Rayburn wood stove will be restored and they are very expensive to purchase and highly sort after. Also, the 1996 Penfolds Rawson Retreat South Australian Cabernet Sauvigon Shiraz might sell for around $50.

Another very interesting video. It is sad to see our heritage disappearing. Old buildings of significance can be restored and made available for appropriate community-based use. It just takes people in local/state government with an interest in preserving our heritage to start the ball rolling. It may have been feasible in this case, although at this stage it is rather academic.
I remember an uncle living on a farm in the southern Riverina of NSW in the 1950's had a stove similar to the one in the kitchen, but I've no idea of the make. As far as I am aware the house is still standing, but whether subsequent owners kept the stove, I've no idea.

Another attractive old property bites the dust. I loved seeing the big eucalypts and wonder if any of these were left to grow. As a child and in my early teens we had a Rayburn, lovely to lean against in the winter - the cat never moved from it!

What I would call interrupted abandonment. Got halfway there and stopped caring, or left the area.
Was a grand place, just as well to be replaced by social housing. would be positively creepy at night...

This one would be hard to save because of the cracking I’d guess. You’ve satisfied my stove fetish again too mate but how cool was the three way picture? That was so 70s n I clearly remember how fashionable they were in our family homes growing up. Just completed a 17 day (14 000klm ) lap of the country n you’ve started my weekend at home perfectly. Cracking is not the end of the world. I live in a 120 year old house. Cracks were everywhere. Tore down all the plaster and put up drywall. As long as a house has good bones, that's all that matters.

The heavy plate on top of the Rayburn was to keep the heat in, you lifted it and then put the pots on it

My personal opinion is that Rayburn's are more versatile than Aga's. Aga's tended to focus on being a heat storage stove versus Rayburns who offered heating hot water as well as central heating and cooking options. My Auntie used to keep a hat box on top of her Aga with her chihuahua in it to keep it warm during the cold wet English weather!

That place couldn't have been vacated very long ago, that dvd "Hell or high water" came out in 2016. Very well worth watching, by the way. I liked the way book shelves were built in back then. I have a really cool one that was a salvage. I could have done without seeing that Huntsman though. That's not a spider, it's a speeder. Give's me willies.

That was a lovely place at one time. I wonder who did all that neat packing and then why they left everything behind? Just one critique here - I wish you had turned that book over (the one with Errol Flynn on the back) so I could have seen the title. It looked like it might have been interesting. I also wish I could save all those lace curtains. I know that's the old soul in me who loves them!

Good that low income housing will be there instead. The poor house was dilapidated with many cracks in the walls throughout. I really like your interest in this period architecture. I like this as well as I often ponder how this turn of century must have been for my grandparents. Grandma was born 1905.

The stone work on these are quite beautiful. Sad her days are over, another one you wish the walls could talk. Would have been a lovely home in it's time. The pet Huntsman there eating all the bugs!!! Like the white wine over the red though, here in the Riverland we're surrounded by vinyards, We are spoilt to have great wine here in South Aus.

Beautiful veranda. Didn't understand why they covered up the lovely widows with the heavy drapes. Hope they come back for their things. The glass piece on the mantle was a keeper. Australia does make good wine. My friend worked at a restaurant in Arizona that served Australian wine. She is the one that introduced me. Good ones to bring to a girls weekend. Everyone brings wine to try and fix a favorite dish then gather around the table. It almost feels like y'all will not have any past left. Just memories, then those disappear with the people. It's happens all over the world. We should take our cue from places like Italy and Greece. Love your video's. Thanks for sharing.

That picture really threw me when the wolf appeared! They left some really nice bits so i hope they can come back for them. Those shopping trolleys have seen a resurgence in the UK amongst younger people and they have some really cool designs. I thought Errol Flynn was British! 🤔😂

Gorgeous home. I noticed all the barred windows. I like how they did that. I am thinking that some of that stuff was packed up by a squater.

My nan use to have a Rayburn stove in a house she use to live in. The top part wasn't for doing burgers and it wasn't a meat press it's where the pots and pans were placed when you wanted to cook stuff, the fire was in one part and you would cook in the other part where the temperature gauge was...

Its sad that places like this should be saved and heritage listed and if there has to be repairs to the house than fix it but affordable housing needs put some where else like old warehouses once was etc..
