Yea, if you tell me go, ima go
You tell me let go, I let go
Yea, not in my control only your control
I'm thanking God when I make it home
No revenge, noI'm not tryna sin again, no
I feel like you far away, but you close
I know you close
I know you there, froze
I know your love it overflows
cnd sometimes I would leave and go ghost
Yea, I wouldn't even post (yea)
Ima take that risk cause I'm chose for this
Snakes in that grass so I'm mowin' it
I got faith and I'm showin' it
The devil tried to tempt me but I ain't goin' for it (yea)
Ima just let the beat rock real quick (yea)
Moment of silence
Killed the enemy with the word I don't use violence
Im really silent
Standin' in my faith, I'm solid
cnd I just need some grace when I'm drownin'
Lord can you be my energy when I'm tired (yea)
Im tired
Yea, if you tell me go, ima goYou tell me let go, I let go
I let go
Go
If you tell me go, ima go
You tell me let go, I let go
Go
Go
In the song "Let's Go Back" by Omar, the lyrics explore themes of brokenness, self-discovery, and the desire to break free from painful memories and experiences. The singer reflects on their past struggles, feeling victimized by someone's actions and burying their emotions deep inside. They seek solace in looking up to the stars, finding hope and light beyond the darkness.
The chorus of "Let me go, I don't belong" represents the singer's longing for freedom and the need to distance themselves from the negative influences of the past. They acknowledge that the person they once held on to has become a mere memory and a fragment of their past, but they also express that they will not apologize for their own mistakes. The lyrics hint at a sense of resilience and determination to move forward.
The second verse delves deeper into the emotions stirred by the past. The singer acknowledges the lies and secrets that were kept and the blindness they once had, but they also express their willingness to keep those memories locked away behind a metaphorical door. They find comfort in the morning with their songs of sorrow, symbolizing the healing power of self-expression. However, they also acknowledge the lingering loneliness that remains once the person they address has gone.
Overall, "Let's Go Back" is a poignant and introspective song that captures the internal struggle of letting go, healing, and finding a sense of belonging after experiencing emotional pain.
Line by Line Meaning
I've been broken so many times
I have experienced numerous emotional hardships and setbacks
Trying to face the world but I was blind
Attempted to confront life's challenges but lacked perspective
Trailing empty roads it was midnight
Wandering through desolate paths during the darkest hours
So so many souls they heard my cry
Countless individuals listened to my plea for help
I became a victim of your crime
I fell prey to the harm and manipulation caused by your actions
Buried my emotions deep inside
Suppressed and hid my feelings within myself
Look up to the stars and there you'll find
When gazing at the heavens, your presence can be felt
That beyond the darkness there is light
There is hope and positivity even in the midst of despair
You became a memory
You transformed into a recollection of the past
A figment of the past
A fragmented and intangible aspect of history
All you left were feelings I could never really grasp
Only complex emotions that I struggled to fully comprehend remained
Though I've tried so many
Despite numerous attempts
Times before
In previous instances
To be the one you cant ignore
To become someone impossible for you to overlook
You can keep your secrets
Continue to hold onto your concealed truths
All the times you lied
Every occurrence when you deceived me
Or the things you said to me when I was so damn blind
The words you spoke during my state of obliviousness
I won't say I'm sorry
I refuse to express remorse
Even though I'm wrong
Despite my own faults and mistakes
I'll keep you locked behind that door
I will confine you to a secluded place
I know in the morning
I am aware that with the dawn of a new day
That I'll be fine
I will be alright
With my songs of sorrow
Through expressing my melancholic melodies
That I kept so deep inside
Which I concealed within myself
And in the morning
As morning arrives
You'll be so far gone
You will have distanced yourself greatly
And I'll be left alone once more
Leaving me isolated once again
There's a place
Within existence
Where I'd like to be
A location I desire to inhabit
Within the oceans and the seas
Amidst the vast bodies of water
They sing songs so sweet
The waters emit melodious tunes
As their melodies wash over me
The harmonious sounds envelop and cleanse my being
They give me comfort
They offer solace
Make me feel free
Instilling a sense of liberation within me
As they tell me stories
Through their narratives
Of my never ending dreams
Related to my perpetual aspirations
Then they begin to ask me questions
Subsequently, they pose inquiries to me
To answers I never seem to know
For which I perpetually lack solutions
And my world begins to sink
My reality starts to submerge
Into a world that's unknown
Immersed into unfamiliar territory
I feel as though I'm drowning
I experience a sensation of suffocation
Trying to hold on to a world
Struggling to cling onto a realm
I cannot own
That is beyond my possession and control
Let me go
Allow me to depart
I don't belong
I am not meant to be a part of this
