He went to France in 1952 during the Franco dictatorship in Spain and recorded his first album in 1964. During the events in France of May 1968, he performed in the Sorbonne and became known as a rebel artist.
He never composed his own lyrics, but used famous poems, like those of Federico García Lorca, Rafael Alberti or Miguel Hernández. He also sang compositions from Georges Brassens ( La mala reputación ).
In 1990, after the death of Franco, he went back to Spain, he is living in Barcelona since 1994.

Even the song talk about something religious the poet Gloria Fuertes try to explane something else. This song talk about a Chist with is not the God that the Spanish traditional cristian church create and had in the 60” and 70”. He is a God for everyone, not only for those how always pretend how good they are and how many knowledge they have about the spiritual world. This good is the God of good people, the God of people that sick knowledge for bigger good not any supersticion. A God of man and woman.
