In Paloma del Cerro's song "Tiempo del Hombre," the singer reflects on the various forms and experiences that have shaped her existence. She begins by describing a "cosmic particle" that flows through her blood, a force that traveled over "millennia" to reach her. From there, she describes her evolution from sand, to a desperate root in a waterless desert, to a snail plucked from who-knows-where. Eventually, she takes on a human form and witnesses the growth of "blasphemy" on the old earth, alongside the deep presence of natural elements like saffron and lime. Her final stanza describes traveling across the world and growing "without age or destiny," learning from the roots and leaves of trees and blossoming through the sound of guitars.
Overall, Paloma's song touches on themes of growth, change, and the interconnectedness of all beings on earth. By emphasizing her spiritual connection to the natural world and her own journey of self-discovery, she encourages listeners to reflect on their own relationships with the earth and the forces that guide their lives.
