Maybe she is the woman that the summer wind
Sweetly kissed her blonde hair
cnd I wept emotionally without knowing that passion
cnd incomprehensible storm
Maybe she is my twilight dawn
The flower born in the winter
c woman for the return
To the lost universe found again in her mouth.
c woman for the return
To the lost universe found again in her mouth.
The lyrics of Patrick Doyle's "Who Is She" delve into questions of nostalgia, love, and self-discovery. The song begins by suggesting the possibility of encountering someone from the past, someone who existed before the singers had a shared history. This person is portrayed as mysterious and captivating, possessing green eyes that hold hidden depths. The search for the essence of their connection unfolds behind a curtain of silence.
The lyrics then shift to the notion of this woman being reminiscent of a summer breeze elegantly caressing her blonde hair. The singer's emotional response is overwhelming, as they find themselves moved to tears without fully comprehending whether their intense feelings stem from passion, fear, or a sense of powerlessness. The storm that rages within them remains complex and perplexing.
The next paragraph introduces the woman as a dawn of twilight, a delicate and rare flower blooming amidst the harshness of winter. She symbolizes a beacon of hope and a catalyst for the return to a universe that was once lost but is now rediscovered within her embrace. This suggests that her presence has the power to revive forgotten parts of their selves and reconnect with a sense of purpose.
The lyrics conclude with a repetition of the phrase "a woman for the return, to the lost universe found again in her mouth." This line consolidates the idea that the woman embodies the key to understanding their past and reawakening their dormant selves. Her mouth becomes a metaphorical gateway that allows them to explore and rediscover the universes of emotion and experience that were seemingly lost.
Overall, "Who Is She" invites contemplation on the enigmatic nature of love, the power of nostalgia, and the revitalizing potential of a genuine connection with another person. It speaks to the transformative qualities of relationships and the mysteries that lie within the spaces between individuals.
