Venne poi il '44 e quell'uomo se ne va
'945 madre e figlio senza lui
Come vissero da allora in poi
Nessuno seppe mai
Gli anni passano veloci
Per quel bimbo invece no
Così chiuse gli occhi e disse
Aprì gli occhi che era un uomo
Vide un clown passar di lì
E gli disse "vuoi venir con noi?"
E lui rispose si
Con il circo vide strade
E paesi, città
Ebbe gioie e dolori
E ragazze in quantità
"giro il mondo fino in fondo
Non mi fermerò mai più"
Fino a quando i sogni rosa
Si dipinsero di più
Poi incontrò una ragazza
Quella che voleva lui
E tra un bacio e una carezza
Disse "mia moglie tu sarai"
Costruirono una casa
"non ti lascerò mai più"
E la gente un giorno vide
Sulla porta un nastro blu
Fu nell'anno '61 che
Qualcuno fu papà
Venne poi il '64
E quell'uomo se ne andrà
'965 madre e figlio senza lui
Quando un giorno arriva un circo
"ehi bambino, cosa fai?"
The song "1941" by Patty Pravo is a poignant tale of a boy who becomes a man, traversing through the ups and downs of life. The opening lines of the song refer to the year of the boy's birth, 1941, and the fact that someone became a father that year. However, in 1944, the man leaves, leaving behind a mother and a son. The song then goes on to explore how they lived without him, and how time passed quickly for the boy while he was growing up.
The lyrics take a turn as the boy closes his eyes and promises himself he will open them in twenty years. When he does open them, he sees a clown passing by and joins a circus. He travels the world and experiences joy and pain, and meets numerous women. But, he never stops dreaming and hopes to see more of the world. Eventually, he meets a girl, and they fall in love. They get married, build a house, and start a family. But, just like before, the man leaves, leaving a wife and child behind.

Secondo me questa cover non rispecchia affatto la tristezza e la malinconia dell'originale di harry Nilsson. Molto meglio la versione di Edoardo bennato.
Salvatore Amalfi
Preferisco la versione di BENNATO

La sua grande epoque. Oggi è un mostro. Pietà. Di piu e homofobica.
