0:20 A few days ago, I noticed my friend had commented on a post about beautiful musical pieces.

Noticing, and intrigued by, the weird name of the song she had posted, I went straight to YouTube to do my nosey, and found this video.

Immediately, I knew that I had heard this piece before, and for some reason I was overcome with emotion but I didn’t know why.

I have just this minute remembered where I heard it before. It was the music playing at my auntie Kim’s funeral broadcast before the live feed began.

I had had to attend virtually due to Covid travel restrictions, and with the time difference in Scotland, it was the middle of the night for me in Canada, and I had logged in about 45 minutes early in case I missed it - something that would never have happened.

Before the live feed began, this music was playing, and there were nature scenes on the screen. Ducks and swans and all sorts of wee animals. It was really serene and peaceful.

I remember thinking that this was absolutely perfect for Kim, because she loved animals, and I watched it on loop for the entire time before the funeral started, crying non-stop.

I was, of course, too upset to look up the title of the piece, but thanks to my friend responding to that post, and me randomly seeing it, I can now associate it to Kim forever.

The name is perfectly fitting too, which I now believe is the reason this piece was chosen for the pre-live broadcast.

Thank you, KR, for giving me a new and final memory of Kim that is such a beautiful and powerful one!

Heard this song in that Australian animated film, Mary and Max. So glad I found it! It is the best. I makes me feel like everything is going to be alright.

My dad used to play this song in the car occasionally. I never knew what it was called so couldn't look it up to listen to it. The result is I only ever listened to it with him, and now I can only associate it with him and the time we spent together in the car. He died two weeks ago and we found he'd chosen this song to be played at his funeral. I haven't been able to cry much since he died, but as soon as I played this I burst into tears. It may seem an odd choice to other people at the funeral, it does to my mum, but it is the perfect song and a great way to remember happier times and say goodbye with a bittersweet note.

So sorry

@@faisalbukhari9825 Thank you, Faisal. The pain of the loss was immense, particularly because someone chose to brutalize and end her for their own enjoyment.

But the indelible memory of his evil will always invoke, and therefore, foreverafter be met with the denial and defiance by the memory of the good that she brought to the world.
