In 2000, after the disband of the popular Chilean rock band Los Tres, lead vocalist Álvaro Henríquez decided to start a new musical project. Later that same year, along with Camilo Salinas, Nicolás Torres and Pedro Araneda (originally it was Cristián Espiñeira, but later replaced) he formed this new band, named Pettinellis after his mother's lastname.
After participing in a tribute album for Violeta Parra in 2001, they release their first studio album in 2002, that went Gold disc for its sales with singles like "Hospital" and "Ch Bah Puta la Güeá". In 2003 they performed the theme song of the movie "Sexo con Amor", that became one of the most succesful Chilean movies.
In 2004 Nicolás Torres and Camilo Salinas decide to leave the band, fact that led to the definitve disband of Pettinellis. Since then Álvaro Henríquez started a solo career, and Nicolás Torres started to focus on his band Silvestre.
In 2011 they announced to come back with a live show on august 19.

The lyrics to "Ch′ bah' puta la güeá" by Pettinellis are replete with repetition, which emphasizes the contemptuous phrase, "puta la güeá". The phrase roughly means, "screw it" or "screw that", and is repeated over and over, making up the majority of the lyrics. The only variation comes in the form of the interjection, "A la shushesumare" and "Este conchesumare", which might be translated as "dammit" or "for heaven's sake".
The song itself is a punk rock anthem, railing against authority or convention. The title, repeated as it is, serves as a rallying cry for the disenchanted, a way to vent frustration and outrage. Because of the minimalist lyrics, the music is able to take center stage, creating a frenetic, high-energy sound that matches the ferocity of the lyrics. Despite its abrasiveness, though, "Ch′ bah' puta la güeá" is ultimately a fun, exuberant anthem to rebellion.
Overall, "Ch′ bah' puta la güeá" by Pettinellis may seem like a crude and simple song at first glance, but it actually has a lot of depth and passion behind it. It is a song that expresses frustration and anger at the injustices of the world, while also providing a cathartic outlet for those emotions.

Una vez ví a mi jefe, un viejo serio de 60 años, escuchando música concentrado con sus audífonos mientras leía el diario. Me acerque y estaba escuchando esta canción a volumen máximo con cara de filósofo.
