I was 27 years old in 2009 when my career got derailed by Bipolar Disorder in NYC. I ended up in an IPRT program which was like a sort of place that was half school/half mental health facility which provided group therapy and so forth. In one of those groups I met a young Art Therapist named Leticia. She introduced me to this song and used to tell a story of getting hit on by the bassist of this band. Anyway, one day they told us that the IPRT program was gonna merge with this other CDT program which was for lower functioning patients. A lot of the IPRT patients couldn't deal with aspects of mental illnesses like their mood or things like that but were pretty smart and alert you know? Whereas the other people were heavily sedated or had been cognitivitely weakened by their afflictions or addictions and so forth and so a lot of the IPRT people got pissed and depressed that their treatment was going to get "Watered down". Long story short in the middle of this group therapy session on her first or second day on the job, everyone is freaking out and this girl comes out and says something like "I don't know where you came from or if you are IPRT or CDT or whatever but we are here to have fun and relax and get better" and then she played this song and started to dance and soon everyone started dancing. It was beautiful stuff. Even then I was amazed at this girls candor and lightness and positivity and how she was able to pull that off. The whole scene could have been the damn music video of this song. I will never forget it. These days the IPRT program is long gone and Leticia long graduated and I have recovered and am doing great and every time I even hear this song I can't help but not think of Leticia from NYU Drama Therapy.

My mom loved this band and had this song on an about 10ish year old playlist. I found it and decided to listen to it, and all the old memories from when I was younger just came rushing back with this overwhelming nostalgia. I started crying. I really miss those easy days, when I never worried about the future, what I looked like, grades, friends, not having to worry that one day all of that might slowly effect me more and more, until I reach my breaking point, and need a new start. So careless, so wonderful, so free.

When I was a Funeral Director/Embalmer and had to go on calls this band really helped me get through some really tough moments, when I had to be strong for families or Coroners and Police. I appreciated being able to slowly relax again and be grateful for my blessings, although I had losses of my own, it made me be able to grasp the families and never assume their pain the same we all grieve differently.

this whole album is just pure gold, my friend lent me this album on cd as I was the one who had a car when we were 17, I still have it lol, so I guess I pretty much stole it, I would drive us around town blaring it, we watched them live on SNL in his parents basement stoned as ever, sneaking out to smoke joints while his parents were asleep, good times, miss those days, I wanna throw my friend some love as I stole his cd, try searching Lonely Gimmick - Grumpy Days, he's a great music producer now and has just released one of the best indie tracks I've heard in a while, I was really impressed when I heard it

I was trying to remember this song, but only remembered a tiny bit from it. “Gentlemen only”, I could hear it perfectly in my head. After trying for a few days to remember more and failing, I googled song with those lyrics and Litztomania popped right up (sp?).
