The Trouble
Pogo Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Ot so fun fact: Pogo while on a US tour took the wrong turn and ended up in Canada.
On his way back he was stopped by immigration and deported for working without a work visa.
He is banned from entering the US for 10 years.

WHAT?
Really?
That's terrible, is there something we can do to help him get back in the states and play some shows?

Already responded about this but basically petitions were made, Reddit convos, no one gave a shit.
Everyone made fun of him, didn't care, or said his ban was his fault.
Also, the petitions happened a few years ago.
S.
Anymore.

I never heard of that, but I'm not super surprised at the reaction.
He played at my university.
I do not think I have ever seen a more boring DJ, or any musician, for that matter.
You'd have to drop down to 'living statues' in Vegas to find a professional artistic performer of any stripe who was less interesting.
He looked sort of ill so maybe he was having an off day, I dunno, but yeah.
I've never seen anybody so blatantly phoning it in.

Back when he rallied on You
Tube to have his ban overturned, people posted on Reddit but no one cared.
There were also very unsuccessful petitions.

I'm shocked to see a Pogo piece even made it to the front page.
Even when news of his ban was posted to Reddit everyone just made fun of him and called him "the loser who did that Toy Story thing."

Overall Meaning

The Trouble by Pogo is a song about the difficulty people face in communication and understanding each other. The lyrics depict a person who is trying to reach out to someone, but they are not sure how to connect with them. The song opens with the lines "If I could find a way to your mind, would you even let me inside?" This sets the stage for the rest of the song, which is about the challenge of getting through to someone who is closed off.

The chorus of the song is particularly powerful, with the lyrics "It's the trouble, it's the trouble with you" repeated over and over. This line captures the frustration and sense of helplessness people often feel when they try to communicate with someone who is not receptive. The repeated use of this line throughout the song emphasizes the importance of effective communication and the toll it takes when it's lacking.

The song's lyrics also touch on the idea of identity and how it plays a part in communication. The line "You see the world so differently, you keep your distance from people like me" reflects how people's individual experiences and backgrounds can shape their perception of the world and make it difficult for them to connect with others who do not share their experiences.

Overall, The Trouble by Pogo is a thoughtful and introspective song about the challenges of communication and understanding. Its powerful lyrics and catchy melody make it a relatable and impactful piece of music.
