*Note:
In the early 90s, the name Psyche was also used as an alias of Detroit techno artist Carl Craig. Under this early pseudonym the legendary Detroit based techno producer released a few 12"s on Transmat - later compiled onto 'Elements', alongside other material written under his BFC alias, and released on Craig's own Planet E label.
Also, a short lived west coast Scottish new wave/rock band called Psyche released a 7" single in 1982.
Exhale
Psyche Lyrics

For so many you have taken away
Take your time
Reach inside
Feel the fire begin
The blood is rising
Here my only love is found
Sometimes I'm turning blue
Sometimes my skin is turning blue
When you touch me
For this temptation
Our love to be
The romance was a bad joke
And when it ended
You couldn't see
That we'd gone up in smoke
When I was blind
You gave me light
To touch the fire again
Now I can see
The burning sign
So take your love away
Psyche's song "Exhale" is a reflective and emotive piece that tackles themes of emotional pain, loss, and toxic relationships. The opening lines, "Five more minutes in time, For so many you have taken away," establish a sense of time slipping away and missed opportunities. The lyrics seem to be addressed to a former lover who caused significant emotional harm. The lines "Our love to be, The romance was a bad joke, And when it ended, You couldn't see, That we'd gone up in smoke," suggest that the singer's relationship was built on false pretenses and ultimately ended disastrously.
The second stanza seems to suggest that the singer has reached a point of acceptance and is ready to move on from the relationship. The lines, "Take your time, Reach inside, Feel the fire begin," indicate that the singer is encouraging their former lover to confront their own emotions and begin the healing process. The repeated refrain of "Sometimes I'm turning blue, When you touch me," conveys a sense of suffocation and emotional distress, suggesting that the singer still feels the lingering effects of the toxic relationship. Finally, the closing line, "So take your love away," is a clear indication that the singer is ready to let go of the past and move forward with their life.
