Brian May, 2008 Bob & Tom Show (US Radio):
"Roger had this song called “The Whole World’s Rockin’” and it’s on there now. It starts off with “the whole house rockin’”, and then “the whole town rockin’”, “the whole world rockin’” and then I went, “Well, why don’t we have ‘the whole Universe rockin’’?” So that’s kind of, and it’s just for fun, you know. It’s not a serious comment on cosmology, you know, but it just fun to think, yeah, you can get the whole cosmos rockin’, you know. So that’s kind of how the thing took shape and there’s a few little allusions in thereto the - to the Cosmos."
Cosmos Rockin'
Queen Paul Rodgers Lyrics

Let there be rock 'n' roll!
It's a Saturday night and I'm home alone
With the music on quiet I'm flying solo
Then my feet start moving to the sound of the beat
Put the music up loud hear it in the street
Then the neighbors start banging on my front door
Come on in let's rock this joint
We got the whole house rocking [Repeat: x5]
To the mighty power of rock 'n' roll
We dance out of the door, dance into the street
And all the people are swaying to the musical beat
We rock down the road and down to the town
And all the people stare and smile and they get down
Then the police man says "stop this noise"
But the beat takes over now he's one of the boys
The beat's taken over now he's one of the boys
Come on down let's rock this town
We got the whole town rocking [Repeat: x5]
To the mighty power of rock 'n' roll
Let's go
Let it roll
Are you ready?
Said are you ready?
The cosmos rocks
Across seven seas through the Panama,
Now they're rockin' on beaches
And they're rockin' in bars
Don't ask me how and don't ask me why
From Miami Beach down to old Bondi
There's a rock 'n' roll fever
In every place
Next thing you know
They'll be rockin' out in space
Come on down let's rock this place
Come on down and
Sock it to me
We got the whole world rocking [Repeat: x5]
To the mighty mighty mighty power
We got the cosmos rocking
We got the cosmos rocking
We got the universe rocking
We got the cosmos rocking
We got the cosmos rocking
To the might power of rock 'n' roll
The song "Cosmos Rockin'" by Queen Paul Rodgers is a celebration of the power of rock music. The lyrics describe the experience of feeling the music and letting it take over, and the sense of community that comes with sharing that experience. The song begins with the singer alone at home, listening to music quietly, but as the beat picks up, they can't help but turn up the volume and start dancing. Even the neighbors come over to join in on the fun, proving the infectious power of rock music.
As the song progresses, the joy and energy of the music attracts more and more people, until the police try to shut down the party. But even they can't resist the beat, and they end up joining in on the fun, becoming "one of the boys." The lyrics go on to describe how the power of rock 'n' roll is not limited to just one town or even one planet, but can be felt across the whole universe. The song ends with an invitation to join in on the universal celebration of rock music.
Overall, "Cosmos Rockin'" celebrates the unifying, joyful power of rock music and the way it can bring people together across all boundaries.

Paul Rodgers is one of my favourite vocalists of all time. He really brought out the more rock/Led Zeppelin side of Queen, rather than the more operatic side that Freddie brought out in them. I love both. And I have no doubt that if Mercury could speak to us today, he'd love it, too. The last thing he'd want is for May and the boys to stop rocking due to his passing.
Queen will never die.

This album is no longer digitally available from what I've seen but my friend who owns an indie record store had a copy on CD so i bought it from him.
After listening to it, I honestly don't see why it gets so much hate. Is it what we had with Freddie? Not at all. Paul Rodgers is a completely different singer from Freddie. But Paul DID bring something to the table that Freddie couldn't just like Freddie brought something to the table that Paul couldn't.
When the Queen + Paul Rodgers tour kicked off, Brian May said that Paul brought things out of the Queen songs that he never knew were there and that he (Brian) was playing differently as a result. The songs were interpreted differently with a new frontman and it was interesting to hear them played that way.
All in all, I'm glad that Brian, Roger and Paul at least TRIED to put out new music even if it was a commercial flop. Of course, the fact that it flopped so hard is probably the exact reason why they refused to do an album of original music with Adam Lambert even though he's also an outstanding fit for the band.

Still better than most music being put out today

I saw Queen + Paul Rodgers live in Brixton in March 2005 and again at the o2 in 2008, Paul has his own unique style of singing and doesn't try and mimic Freddie in the least. I think this is a great track and the rest of the album was fantastic. So stop slating Paul Rodgers, he's a great singer and he's NOT TRYING TO BE FREDDIE!

I’ve been a massive queen fan for years, but this is only the first time I’ve listened to this album, I didn’t really know what to expect… when I heard this song opening the album I was positively blown away!
