Reamonn was a German rock and pop band that is well known all over Europe. They recorded six albums and disbandoned in 2010.
In 1998, Rea Garvey left his band The Reckless Pedestrians and home town of Tralee, Ireland to go to Germany with not a lot money and a demo CD in his pocket. He put an ad into local paper Stockacher Anzeiger stating, "Singer requires band for recording and live shows." Mike Gommeringer (Gomezz) saw this ad and accurately assumed it must have been Garvey, whose original band he had once seen play live. The twosome met up and subsequently recruited Uwe, Sebi and Phil. Their first gig was played on New Year's Eve 1998 in Stockach.
In order to secure a recording contract, they set up a showcase at Logo, a small club in Hamburg, in front of 16 representatives from various record labels in 1999. The band was quickly offered several contracts, settling on signing with Virgin Records Germany. As of 2006 they are now releasing their music through Universal Music.
Their best known songs are: Supergirl and Tonight(2006).
In 2011, Rea started his solo career and as of 2018, released 4 albums so far: Can't stand the silence, Pride, Prisma and Neon. Rea continues to work with national and international artists like Kool Savas, Jam & Spoon, Paul van Dyk or Mary J. Blige.
In the past, he recorded a new version of "All good things come to an end" with Nelly Furtado.
For several German movies he provided solo tracks even before Reamonn disbandoned.
He regularely appears at a coach of the German Version of "The Voice" or "The Voice Kids".
Rea married in 2002 and together with their child, they live in Berlin.

Your skin is cold
And your fists clenched tight
At first we're just strangers
But now I know you well
It's crazy I know
But under your cold
And God only knows
I've felt that cold
I've felt that damp risin' up inside
I don't know your name but
I know who you are
You're like a child who's screaming
"Save me from the dark"
Somebody hold me
Somebody own me
Somebody take away this pain
Somebody hold me
And bring me back to life again
It's a God ugly world
If the tables were turned
Would you have what it takes to survive
It's a God ugly world
When you're not being heard
And you say you've been left there to die
It's a God ugly world
It's a God ugly world
It's a God ugly world
You were once a father, once a mother
Once a sister to someone else's brother
The journey was short
But it took your whole life
You know your own pride
It's crazy I know
But under your cold
There's a heart beating just like mine
And God only knows
I've felt that cold
I've felt that damp risin' up inside
I don't know your name but
I know who you are
You're like a child who's screaming
"Save me from the dark"
Somebody hold me
Somebody own me
Somebody take away this pain
Somebody hold me
And bring me back to life again
It's a God ugly world
If the tables were turned
Would you have what it takes to survive
It's a God ugly world
When you're not being heard
And you feel like you're left there to die
It's a God ugly world
It's a God ugly world
It's a God ugly world
It's crazy I know
But under your cold
There's a heart beating just like mine
And God only knows
I've felt the cold
I've felt the damp risin' up inside
"God Ugly World" by Rea Garvey is a song that speaks to the loneliness, pain, and struggles that we all face in life. The lyrics describe encountering someone at the traffic lights, who appears cold and clenched, initially strangers but gradually becoming familiar. The song emphasizes that beneath the tough exterior, this person also has a beating heart just like the songwriter's. It highlights the relatability of human experiences and the commonality of emotions.
Garvey acknowledges the presence of pain and darkness in life, using the metaphor of a child screaming for help in the dark. The lyrics express a yearning for someone to hold and understand, to relieve the pain and bring back a sense of vitality. The line "It's a God ugly world" suggests that the world can be unforgiving and harsh, leaving individuals feeling unheard and abandoned. Despite these struggles, the song reminds us that everyone has their own story and emotional journey.
