Reamonn was a German rock and pop band that is well known all over Europe. They recorded six albums and disbandoned in 2010.
In 1998, Rea Garvey left his band The Reckless Pedestrians and home town of Tralee, Ireland to go to Germany with not a lot money and a demo CD in his pocket. He put an ad into local paper Stockacher Anzeiger stating, "Singer requires band for recording and live shows." Mike Gommeringer (Gomezz) saw this ad and accurately assumed it must have been Garvey, whose original band he had once seen play live. The twosome met up and subsequently recruited Uwe, Sebi and Phil. Their first gig was played on New Year's Eve 1998 in Stockach.
In order to secure a recording contract, they set up a showcase at Logo, a small club in Hamburg, in front of 16 representatives from various record labels in 1999. The band was quickly offered several contracts, settling on signing with Virgin Records Germany. As of 2006 they are now releasing their music through Universal Music.
Their best known songs are: Supergirl and Tonight(2006).
In 2011, Rea started his solo career and as of 2018, released 4 albums so far: Can't stand the silence, Pride, Prisma and Neon. Rea continues to work with national and international artists like Kool Savas, Jam & Spoon, Paul van Dyk or Mary J. Blige.
In the past, he recorded a new version of "All good things come to an end" with Nelly Furtado.
For several German movies he provided solo tracks even before Reamonn disbandoned.
He regularely appears at a coach of the German Version of "The Voice" or "The Voice Kids".
Rea married in 2002 and together with their child, they live in Berlin.

No battle, no wall, no cry
No wounds to the heart from hanging at the river
No lovers waving goodbye
We won't go down
You won't bring us down
From a sparkle in their eyes
She's a spider web, silk and pretty
And she's more than she advertised
We won't go down
They won't bring us down, yeah
We're water
We're stronger
Won't let this world go under
With shoulder
To shoulder
We found the ranks of soldiers
We're water
We're stronger
There's no one left to conquer
And now we've opened our eyes
We see the paradise, yeah
No priest, no bride, no straight down the middle
No curse, no call, no cry
No cure, no cross, being chased by the living
On yours it was once mine
We won't go down
They won't bring us down, yeah
From the magazine to the radio station
To the TV color screens
I wear the flag of every nation
My sayin' this, my belief
We won't go down
They won't bring us down
We're water
We're stronger
Won't let this world go under
With shoulder
To shoulder
We found the ranks of soldiers
We're water
We're stronger
There's no one left to conquer
And now we've opened our eyes
We see the paradise, yeah
No creature
No preacher
Could save it, our love
No hunger
No hunger
Can affect my words
No reason, no reason
That I understand
Can hold back the world
When you're flat on your hands
We're water
We're stronger
Won't let this world go under
With shoulder
To shoulder
We found the ranks of soldiers
We're water
We're stronger
There's no one left to conquer
And now we've opened our eyes
We see the paradise
We see the paradise
We see the paradise
We see the paradise
And now we've opened our eyes
We see the paradise
The lyrics to Rea Garvey's song "Water" convey a message of strength, unity, and resilience. The song begins by emphasizing that there is no fire, no flame, and no tears in the river, suggesting a peaceful and harmonious existence. It also mentions there are no battles, walls, or cries, implying an absence of conflict or division. The line "No lovers waving goodbye" implies that there are no separations or heartbreaks.
The chorus repeats the lines "We won't go down, you won't bring us down," emphasizing the determination and refusal to be defeated. It speaks of the power and strength of water, symbolizing resilience and the ability to adapt and overcome obstacles. The lyrics suggest that water is stronger than any force that tries to bring it down.
The second verse juxtaposes the serenity of nature with the fast-paced, bustling city. From the mountain high to the hum of the city, the lyrics suggest that strength and unity can be found everywhere. The line "She's a spider web, silk and pretty, and she's more than she advertised" implies that there is more than meets the eye, hinting at hidden strength and potential. The song also mentions wearing the flag of every nation, suggesting a sense of inclusivity and unity beyond borders.
The bridge emphasizes the power of love and the impact of words. It states that no creature or preacher can save love, and no hunger can affect words spoken out of love. It further mentions that no reason understood can hold back the world when one is down, implying that overcoming challenges requires determination and resilience.
Overall, "Water" celebrates the strength and unity of humanity, emphasizing the ability to overcome obstacles and find paradise when eyes are opened.

Rea!! It's just incredible, how you're mixing up the freakin music world. Your voice and your lyrics are something we don't deserve. It's incredible, how you sing the covers by your own way. You even mix up your own songs.... You just made a new song out of it. Just by mixing the chords and pronounce the words by a different way. I love your style, your music. It inspires me and a lot of other people. I've even started playing guitar thanks to you ๐๐. So to sum up, I am really greatfull for your music and the stuff you're doing. I just want to let you know, that you're inspiring a lot of people. Keep it up!
