Sunday Kind Of Love
Reba McEntire Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I want a Sunday kind of love
A love to last past Saturday night
And I'd like to know
It's more than love at first sight
I want a Sunday kind of love

And I want a - a love that's on the square
Can't seem to find somebody
Someone to care
And I'm on a lonely road that leads to nowhere
I need a Sunday kind of love

I do all my Sunday dreaming
And all my Sunday scheming
Every minute, every hour, every day
And hopin' to discover
A certain kind of lover
Who will show me the way

And my arms needs someone to enfold
To keep me warm when Mondays and Tuesdays grow cold
And I need a love for all my life to have and to hold
I want a Sunday kind of love - oh yeah
Yeah, I don't want a Monday or a Tuesday
A Wednesday or a Thursday
Friday or Saturday

I don't want nothin' baby
But I want a Sunday kind of love

Love how Reba made this her own. Mind blowing moving rendition of this song, she is a great story teller. . She is insanely talented. And so very beautiful. The video is amazing as well

Saxy Lament

Too right. I was 8 years old when she released this and I was an adult when I learned that this song is an old standard. I often hear old songs and realize I didn't know what they meant as a kid but this one just clicked for me. Maybe it's just how smooth it is that drives home what a Sunday kind of love really is. It's easy and comfortable but still has moments of excitement. The video sells it too.

i heard this woman for the first time after dropping my 3 yr old off at pre-school - she was singing Whoever's In New England - that was 1980 - I knew the moment she sang the first notes she was going to be a HUGE STAR! She still amazes me every time I listen to a recording! LOVE that this is on YouTube!!

I was the same way. Singing her in the car since I was 3. Knew her songs in the first few seconds!

Shark Mama

Not only is she a great country singer, my favorite, she is a AWESOME actress. I try not to miss any of her show ( Reba), even if it is a re-run.)

This is one of those best match-ups: singer/song/arrangement. Reba understands music; she doesn't just sing the words and notes, she makes music.
