Rebelution kicked off their “Peace of Mind Tour” the day after the release, selling out shows at Philly’s The Electric Factory, The Hollywood Palladium, Denver’s The Fillmore, The Fox Theater in Oakland and Hard Rock in Orlando, FL. The tour made stops in a total of 42 cities across the country.
Summer 2012 was spent supporting O.A.R on their Amphitheatre tour, headlining four amphitheaters in Florida as well as festival performances at Outside Lands, Hangout, Forecastle, Summer Camp, Summer Set, The Allman Bro’s Peach Festival and two performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. After completing a Fall tour of the East and South East, Rebelution will be headlining The Hollywood Palladium on New Years Eve, heading to New Zealand for the Raggamuffins Festival in February and headlining their annual Winter Greens Tour around the USA in Feb - May 2013.
Peace of Mind marks the first time Rebelution has expanded beyond their usual self-production enlisting producers Michael Goldwasser (Easy Star All-Stars), Amp Live (Zion-I), Yeti Beats (Kool Keith, George Clinton), Keith Armstrong and Errol Brown (Stephen, Ziggy, Damian, and Bob Marley). The album builds upon the band’s signature style while venturing into new musical genres from the lush strings incorporated into the gentle “Route Around” to the driving guitar and synths throughout “Lady In White”.
Rebelution has developed into a front-runner for grassroots, independent and tour driven music groups. Originally formed in 2004, members Eric Rachmany (vocals / guitar), Rory Carey (keyboards), Wesley Finley (drums), and Marley D. Williams (bass) met in college, while residing in Isla Vista, a popular beachside community in Santa Barbara. It was there that the seeds to Rebelution’s future were planted creating inspiring and engaging music that would leave their listeners with the sense that they have the power to make this world a better place. The band continuously tours across the country, ventured to South America and Europe, and has previously performed at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits among others.

Educated Fools
Rebelution Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Telling us these lies if you know what I mean
Why do we follow? Why do we believe?
The words that they say when we know they deceive
So here's an opportunity to see the big picture
Don't fortune these fake idols and fixtures
We're coming up now, excuse me Mr.
We know they do not know what they do
But they lie every day to me and you
These educated fools
These politicians
are on a mission
Telling us lies through the television
Another string being pulled
by these educated fools
Who have the money
To get what they want
Now its time we give them what they need
So come on people
This is our mission
Open up your eyes and see
We know they do not know what they do
But they lie every day to me and you
These educated fools
The lyrics of Rebelution's song "Educated Fools" are a commentary on the falsehoods and lies propagated by politicians and the mainstream media. The song speaks to the fact that we've been conditioned to believe everything we see and hear on TV, even when we know it's untrue. The first verse highlights the irony of knowing these lies are being told, but still choosing to follow what we're being sold, a moment of realization that explains the essence of the song.
The second verse, however, opens with a call to see the big picture, indicating that it's time to wake up and stop paying attention to these fake idols and fixtures. We must take this opportunity to question what we are being told and to break free from the chains of the false sources of information that surround us. The lyrics show that we need to stand up and take charge, refusing to be fooled or swayed by the media and politicians, who are pulling on our strings for their own benefit. The repetitive chorus repeats the phrase, "These educated fools," emphasizing the harsh truth that we are being played.
In summary, this song by Rebelution is a reminder that we need to educate ourselves, think critically, and not blindly follow everything we hear in the mainstream media or from politicians. We must be aware of the falsehoods around us and strive to seek the truth ourselves.
