Brunner grew up in a rural area which is often named as source of his inspiration. His musical style is attributed as ambient, deep house and techno/acid techno. In fact, Brunner's musical output blurs the boundaries between these categories. The released Albums and EPs include melancholy and gloomy tracks, with a typically low bpm, and also veritable techno tracks created for the dancefloor.
Recondite uses field recording and synthesizers. He works with the native operator synthesizer from Ableton, which combines analog sounds and frequency modulation synthesis. Except in the acid test productions, no further synthesizer are used by Brunner.

I'm a die hard fan of this guy, he's always playing on my spotify, like all the time. All his EPs got this signature sound that is so unique. His latest album, Dwell, was very soothing in many ways. He reinvented himself and brought back some really soothing chill and aerial sounds to his game. It was a great experience. This release is good, the production skills are flawless, the structure of it is very uplifting. But it doesn't sound like the real Recondite to me. It is banging, I'd rave to it very hard if any dancefloor was open right now anywhere in the world. But the thing is, I feel like it was produced to fit to Afterlife signature sound, and to what's the progressive techno standards are today. If I'd close my eyes without checking the name of the artist behind it, sorry to say that I felt like a new release from Artbat. I hope whoever reads this gets my idea. It is an okay track, but not up to Recondite standards to me. Again, I know what's everybody in the world is going through during these stressful times, and we are all indulgent if it is not top level Recondite. We are still glad he keeps doing what he loves by producing music to make us evade from this dark times. Much support. That was just a friendly critic from a die hard recondite fan. Peace :)

I feel the vibe of a steam train working its way up in a dark tunnel with water dripping all over it and mountains of coal on the train carriage. This track hits so hard love it !
