Redman's solo career continued throughout the remainder of the decade, with each of his albums selling at least half a million copies. His musical style has remained very consistent, rarely deviating from a combination of Redman's unique braggadocious wit and hard, P-funk-influenced beats. In addition to releasing albums under his own name, he is part of the group Def Squad (along with Keith Murray and Erick Sermon) with whom he released the 1998 album El Nino, and also has formed a close partnership with labelmate Method Man (of the Wu-Tang Clan) with whom he released the 1999 album Blackout!. The long-awaited follow-up, Blackout! 2, apeared in 2009.
He has also collaborated extensively, both with hip-hop artists and with artists from other genres; the long list of artists and groups he has worked with includes Wyclef Jean, Snoop Dogg, Scarface, The Offspring, Christina Aguilera, Eminem, Gorillaz, D'Angelo, Me'shell Ndegeocello, 2Pac, Jodeci, Cypress Hill, De La Soul, KRS One and IAM.
In 2001 Redman co-starred with Method Man in the stoner comedy film How High, which featured the pair playing two marijuana-addled students attempting to survive at Harvard. Method Man and Redman also appear in the Def Jam Vendetta video game series, often as Tag Team partners, and briefly had their own television sitcom, Method & Red, on Fox during the 2004-2005 season.
Redman is also featured on the video game "True Crime: New York City", in which the central character interacts with an undercover street cop based upon the rap star, who also provides the voice for him.

Reggie Noble's stinkin ass will not be performing with us
Erick Sermon, keep keep it on
Def Squad, Erick Sermon, Redman keep keep it on
K to M Keith Murray keep keep it on
Keep keep on, ya don't stop
Keep keep it on, and ya don't stop
Keep keep it on, and ya don't stop
Erick Sermon, Keith Murray ya don't stop
I X'd ya amateur, damage ya, have fools jumpin off
Cliffs grabbin their ass cheeks yellin Geronimo
It ain't a problem at all when K solve
Three-hundred and sixty degrees rhymes or boulevards
Are charged, by my entourage, who put the Ram in Dodge
Bas cla in bumba claat
Maintain, few remain in the game
So I remain focused and pop's the main aim
Well it's the Funk Doctor Spock, the pon cock lyricist
My mentality's so def yo I ain't even hearin this shit
Biscuits be cockin back when I be coming
I guess they heard how I be takin MC's out by the hundreds
Wanted, for two million and a body alone
And use the microphone as my accomplice
Scientist still trippin, thinkin
What the fuck is this funky fungus that growed amongst us
Sprayed a few, shank a few, rap crews say they shamed too
But can't hang two, like we do
Fuck them, they better bow slow
This rhyme'll cold hit em, real quick cause I'm K-Solo
Battle any dude, this retifuge I'm in cruise
See what the better vet, could do, to you undouche
You three groups, four punkses at a time
I box two and knock em out at the drop of a dime
The long faced murderer
Servin over two billion motherfuckers a day like Mickey D's circular
Workin a shifty hour like a burgular
My crew herbin ya like we never even heard of ya
Odds are evens, that I'mma be the one creepin
My new niggas check the flows of the major deacon
The bazaar, the rap non-superstar
When I step up I pump volume like rah
My afro blows in three-hundred sixty degrees
So this makes me, the light skinned Richard Roundtree
Vocabularies very, loquacious
And gregarious, pump that too, go grab the dictionary
Fly word that we flip on the M-I-K-E mike
My crew be like, this style's hype
Wrong's the opposite forget the bullshhhh
To rhyme like the K-Solo, you need more than a soul kid
Come closer, while I lock it down like I'm supposed ta
You battle me, you won? You might of, but then you woke up
My turbulence will make peanut butter choke up
Call me tha Brick City, Stock Cock Broker
Y'all niggas is fools, playin with hood moves
You couldn't total my amount if you sung I Missed You
Dissed you dismissed you yeah I fixed you
Let your girl suck on the shit that I piss through
The lyrics to Redman's "It's Like That" feature K-Solo and are about their skill as MCs in the rap game. The song starts off with an announcement that due to technical difficulties, Redman will not be performing, but the rest of the Def Squad--Erick Sermon and Keith Murray--will continue on. K-Solo raps about his ability to destroy any potential competition, announcing that he charges "rhymes or boulevards" with his "entourage." Redman's verse was focused on boasting, with his "mentality's so def" that he doesn't even hear the competition coming at him, and his "crew herbin ya like we never even heard of ya." Finally, he states that no one can match his style and that they need "more than a soul" to even attempt it.
The lyrics themselves demonstrate the confidence and bravado needed to be a successful MC in the competitive world of rap. Each artist speaks about their skills and what sets them apart from the rest of the crowd. Redman addresses his signature hairstyle in the lyrics, saying "My afro blows in three-hundred sixty degrees, so this makes me, the light-skinned Richard Roundtree," which is a reference to the famous actor who starred in the movie "Shaft." K-Solo also uses Jamaican dialect, stating "Bascla in bumba claat," which is a curse word in the language. The use of foreign terms and colloquialisms strengthen the theme of separation from the common rapper.

Pretty good transcription. A few things are off mostly in K-solo verse because he's a little harder to hear clearly. One obvious one is actually Redman "major deacon" which is actually major degan a highway that goes up the east side of the bronx.
