Revolverheld Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Gebt mir alles, was noch geht
Denn ich bin euer Rockprophet
Zum Castingwahn sind wir der Gegenpol
Was hier passiert ist Rock 'n' Roll
Refrain:
Rock 'n' Roll, Baby, bis ans Ende der Welt
Rock 'n' Roll, Baby, ist alles was noch zählt
Rock 'n' Roll, Baby, unsere Revolution
Rock 'n' Roll, Baby, meine Damen und Herren
Ja, Komm schon
2. Strophe:
Revolverheld geht jetzt auf GO!
Gegen Massenradio
Wir sind im Haus und bringen den Rock zurück
Bist Du bereit für unseren SHIT?
Refrain (2x):
Rock 'n' Roll, Baby, bis ans Ende der Welt
Rock 'n' Roll, Baby, ist alles was noch zählt
Rock 'n' Roll, Baby, unsere Revolution
Rock 'n' Roll, Baby, meine Damen und Herren
Ja, komm schon
Komm schon, ja
The lyrics of Revolverheld's "Rock'n'Roll" anthem seem to reflect the band's passion for the genre that they love and the sense of purpose that it gives them. The opening line of the first verse sets the tone for the rest of the song, as the singer demands that his fans give him everything they've got, because he is their rock prophet. It's clear that the band is rejecting the modern music industry's obsession with commercialism and manufactured acts by stating that they are the antithesis to the casting game. The message is clear: what's happening here is the essence of Rock'n'Roll.
The chorus emphasizes the band's passion for rock 'n' roll music and its significance. The repeated refrain that "Rock 'n' Roll, Baby" is everything that counts and is the ultimate revolution. The last line of the chorus, "Ja, komm schon" (Yes, come on) emphasizes how the band is urging the listener to join in with them and to embrace the revolution in rock music that they are trying to create.
The second verse continues the theme of rejecting the commercialization of rock music, by highlighting their disdain for the mass radio stations that dictate what people should listen to. The line "Revolverheld geht jetzt auf GO!" (Revolverheld is now on the go) seems to be the band's own rallying cry against the music industry. The rest of the verse rallies their fans to join in with them and embrace their music, asking if they're ready for our (the band's) "shit".
Overall, the song is a rousing anthem for rock 'n' roll music and its enduring power to unite people and create a revolution. Its lyrics are filled with a rebellious spirit that overthrows the modern music industry's obsession with money and instead, champions rock music as a force of independence and revolt.
