Saw You In Heaven
Ryan Star Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
When I was there last night
They said you haven't been comin'
So I want to know you're alright
Then I walked down to SoHo
Where we hung on movie star lives
They said you haven't been comin'
And I want to know you're alright
And if you find your way back home
I will be waiting on my own
I thought I saw you in Heaven
When I was there last night
They said you haven't been comin'
So I want to know you're alright
And I want to know you're alright
And I want, and I want to know you're alright
The lyrics to the song "Saw You in Heaven" by Ryan Star tell a story of someone who believes they saw a lost loved one in heaven, and yearns to know that they are alright. The first verse describes the singer's experience of being in heaven and seeing the person they lost. They mention that they were told the person had not been coming to heaven, which may suggest that there is a possibility of the person still being alive on Earth.
In the second verse, the singer walks down to SoHo, where they used to spend time with the person they lost, and find out that they haven't been coming there either. The repetition of the phrase "So I want to know you're alright" throughout the song emphasizes the singer's deep concern and longing for reassurance about the fate of the lost loved one.
The chorus follows a similar pattern, with the singer expressing their belief that they saw the person they lost in heaven and reiterating their desire to know that they are alright. The final lines of the song, "And if you find your way back home, I will be waiting on my own," suggest that the singer holds onto hope that the person will return to them, whether it be in heaven or on Earth.
Overall, the song is a poignant and heartfelt tribute to lost loved ones, capturing the feelings of sadness, longing, and hope that often accompany such experiences.
