Take a Ride With Me
Ryan Star Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I'll shake you from your cherry tree
If you'll ever take a ride with me
I'll break you and your cherry tree
And if you turn around here
I will disappear
And if you turn around here
A little girl who lost her way back home
If you take a ride with me
I promise you some ecstasy
If you ever take a ride with me
Lovers love what love can be
And if you turn around here
I will disappear
And if you turn around here
Nobody will hear
A little girl who lost her way back home
A little girl who lost her way back
Ooh
If you turn around here
I will disappear
And if you turn around here
Nobody will hear
A little girl who lost her way back home
A little girl who lost her way back
The lyrics to Ryan Star's song Take a Ride With Me depict a mysterious and enticing invitation to join the singer on a journey. The first verse sets the scene with the lines "I'll shake you from your cherry tree" and "I'll break you and your cherry tree," which suggest a desire to disrupt the listener's comfortable existence and introduce them to something new and exciting. The chorus repeats the invitation to take a ride with the singer, promising "ecstasy" and the possibility of experiencing "what love can be" with a lover. However, the second verse introduces a darker undertone with the lines "if you turn around here, I will disappear, and if you turn around here, nobody will hear." This suggests a potential danger or risk associated with following the singer on this journey, as they may disappear or leave the listener stranded.
The repeated phrase "a little girl who lost her way back home" further emphasizes this potential danger, as it portrays the listener as vulnerable and in need of guidance. The overall tone of the song is seductive and mysterious, with a sense of adventure and risk intertwined. It reflects the desire to break free from a mundane existence and pursue something unknown and exciting.
