The feeling this song gives to me is a feeling of watching the world you are on destroy the world you wish you were on. A reality check. The feeling you get when you get something you didn't want, and you are powerless, you can do nothing about it.
We all dream of a perfect world, but one thing that stands out is that we all dream dreams that are related. Men especially.
As a man, one of my dreams was also to be a father, to work one job, to come back to a nice house and my wife, to work on an decent job, with decent people working along me, all of them living good lives too. I too have dreamed about taking my wife and kids to a church on a nice Saturday. I can't even count the number of times I heard people talk about their dreams, and how they all sounded like what I too dreamed.
But all of that are dreams, dreams too impossible to realize now. A wife and kids? Hah. It's hard to find decent people, let alone wife material people, and kids? What a joke, in the days of today, I don't even know if I could give my kids a nice future, who's to say I don't end up in the unemployed statistics ? Or worse, maybe.
Decent jobs? Hah. Decent people in decent jobs? I should be a stand-up comedian.
Jobs suck, you are enslaved and you know it and they know it too, you will get overwhelmed eventually, it's up to you to see if you can turn the situation or end up unemployed. We all work on the same damned office, on the same damned glorified cage we call a building, doing the same damned things. Don't like it? Well heck you that's what, you're fired.
Forget about having friends or a decent work, you will see people hate and infigth over the worst reasons just to tear someone down so they could rise up, the very definition of greed, wrath and envy are dominant, don't like it? Well, again, you're fired.
Our world is full of lust, of degeneracy, of evil. It is up to you to stomach it and bear it, it is up to you to see the abyss and stand firm against the abyss.
Not many stand against this reality, many end themselves because they see their lives as unfulfilled, many even begin to see their lives as mistakes, mistakes that they wish didn't happen. This powerlessness, this lack of fulfillment, it's what brings many people down, it's what gives them an numbness, an lack of feeling, of empathy, of humanity, and it is aggravated by the fact we cannot be ourselves in this world, we have to be different people, while still remaining on the same body. But those are all things you shouldn't worry about, a darkness of mind can only lead to a dark path.

You like Mareux? Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Predestiny Ep came out in '20, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of exquisite professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Mr. Kitty, but I think Mareux has a far more bitter, cynical sense of vibe. In '21, Mareux released this; The Perfect Girl, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "The Perfect Girl". A track so ethereal, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the captivation of love and the mystery of attraction. It's also a personal statement about the band itself.
