The stage name "S3RL" was based on a nickname his cousins gave him when he was little, which derived from his cousins calling him "arsehole". To avoid profanity, they began saying "arserl", and according to S3RL, the word stuck and became his stage name.
One of S3RL's most popular tracks is "Pretty Rave Girl" (2006), which uses the melody from "Daddy DJ" (November 1999) by the French dance act of the same name. S3RL has contributed tracks for several UK hardcore compilation series, including the Bonkers series.
Many of his songs reference different aspects of Japanese pop culture, such as anime, manga, hentai, and video games. In 2011, he founded his own record label, EMFA Music, through which all of his works are released. In May 2012, the label released "Press Play Walk Away[/track" as a single by S3RL and SynthWulf, a fellow hardcore DJ.
As of February 2015, S3RL was ranked 1798 on the "Official Global DJ Rankings" page djrankings.org, which bases its rankings on a number of factors include chart rankings, DJ fees and radio airplay. During mid-2015, his single "Genre Police" (featuring Lexi), which had been issued in Australia in November the previous year, peaked at #10 on the Norwegian singles chart.
In early 2018, S3RL announced that his 2018 tour would be his last, citing a desire to spend more time with his family. Though he advertised it as being his final shows, he clarified that he might be willing to return to the stage after at least two years: "After 2018 I will not do any shows for at least a couple of years, then re-assess the situation to do the occasional show here and there.... For example, if I was booked for a show in 2020 that I could bring my family along to I would consider it, but during the two years off I will not be doing any shows at home or away." He also stated that his music production would be unaffected.
In February 2020, S3RL decides to hire contract partners to help him make his new music videos. He notably recruits Aurélien Dacher, a French beatmaker, and they have since created: You Are Mine, Nasty, Dopamine, Wanna Fight Huh, The Bass & The Melody, and S3RL Absolutely Presents.
In May 2021, S3RL announced his new label, M4 Music, with the release of "Dance More (Atef Remix)" on 14 May 2021.

once, i had this crush on this Princess Bubblegum, who was Always Picking On Me. i decided i'd ask her out by singing her a Song Without Words, but it turns out that the Same Never Changed.
a few years later, i found myself in a bar called Emcees & Deejays, drinking some Martinis & Mixed Feelings. turns out i could only drink 3 To The Floor before i passed out. i was an Addict to the the SummerBass, and the Barman was the Dealer.
When i awoke, i found i was behind the 9 Bars of Equador, and to Break 'em i tried to Kamehameha my way out. i failed, and after trying to find an Alternative, it soon looked like i was gonna be stuck there Forever. luckily, this Little Kandi Raver paid my bail, and in return she said i had to be Ready for Love, like the Birds and Bees.
when we got out, i told her "Baby, Baby, Every Time I Look At You, you make me feel like i'm in a Fantasy Land". she blushed so much, it was so cute. i then looked down a little, embarrassed, and noticing her well shaped Shoulder Boulders, and her dress made her look like a Rainbow Girl. i then Requested that we go to her house.
when we got to her place, she asked if i would like some hot coffee, and i replied "Fer Sure". for once i wouldn't be MTC. we both started to Go Wild. after a while, she moaned " Don't Stop, Bad Boy, I Want It Harder".i blushed, whispering into her ear that she's such a sexy devil, as i found some Artificial Energy, before making her Climax. as we both collapsed on the bed, i Closed My Eyes, as I Kissed her, whispering to her "Good Night, my Pika Girl."
when i woke up, i found i had a Dream Surprise, as she had left me a message on facebook asking if i was Better Off Alone. i replied to her that Most things Can't Bring Me Down, but i needed her Back In My Life. As i waited for her reply, i scrolled through the dumbass statuses that these Crazy Ass Bitches i call my friends had posted about this new band called Here's Jonathan. some of them were arguing about how he's a godlike DJ, and others were like "God Is Not A DJ you Bass Slut".
i decided to get up and Blast The Noise, and Crank It Louder so much that i couldn't Pump Up The Jams any more. i put in the album Sucsess 'N' Mistreet by Freak Show. as i listened to the Beat Drop Music, i heard facebook's ping as she replied, so i read her message. she said "I'll Be With You as long as you promise not to Friendzoned me." i told her that she's so beautiful like a Butterfly, and that i wish she'd Come Back Home. as i send it i started to Cry a little.
i then got a call from my workplace, telling me that I Am The DJ for the next work party, and How Do I Like Bass i tried to explain that Every Single Day i'm having a problem with my kit, but they told me Come On Do It, before hanging up. i then wrote a note and left it on her fridge, telling her that Every Time We Touch it Feels Like Heaven, but that work was having a Happy Hardcore Tonight party over at Hardcore Is This Place, so i had to Press Play Walk Away. i would be back soon, but she would have some Time 2 Burn.
i then left the house, playing Space Invader on my GBA, as i was on the tube to get to work. that night, the Raver Dimention was Going Insane, Snow White Lines were being shared, and the Doof Doof Untz Untz of my bass with the Da De Da of the crowd made the Lush Lush Lush party feel like a Neverending Story. a lot of the ravers were like Fuck The World! we wanna Stay and Rave Forever!, but i had to get home. i flicked on my repeatedly presents FSCENE8 set over the speakers as the MC calls out "I'll See You Again!", leaving just before the crowd Gets Stronger. i checked my phone, and she messaged me "I Will Pick You Up when your set is done"
as i Backtracked on the late bus home, i was playing the Green Hill Zone of Sonic on my GameGear, thinking Here We Go... hopefully she won't be pissed because It Went long than what i was expecting.when i got home though, she asked if we could dance. "i'll dance with you.", i told her, putting on the Wilhelm Scream Remix i made. as we both slow danced, i whispered into her ear "i don't wanna grow up without you angel, i wanna be with you in this Neverending Story." she blushed, whispering back "I've got enough cash for a bigger home, and i wanna Move With You." i agreed, and we were soon Feeling The Flow.
