So Long Ago So Clear
Sarah Brightman Lyrics

How we chased a million stars
And touched as only one can
Once, we did play
How the past delivered you
Amidst our youth we'd dream away, away
As if I knew the words I'm sure you'll hear
Of how we met as you recall so clear
Long ago how did I forget
Holding you so closely
Look, how I move
Chance would have me glance at you
To know how you move me, me
Oh barriers fall around us as we hear
Of memories known and met so long ago, so clear
Once, we did run
How we chased a million stars
And touched as only one can
Sarah Brightman's song "So Long Ago So Clear" is a nostalgic song about past memories and love. The opening lines of the song "Once, we did run, how we chased a million stars, and touched as only one can" creates an imagery of two people running wildly and chasing stars while holding hands, and having a genuine connection that is hard to come by. The next verse talks about how they used to play and dream of a future with each other, and how the memories of those youthful days are still so vivid. The chorus talks about how they used to love, and how they forgot about that love until they reunited, and barriers fall down around them as they are lost in their memories of long ago.
The song speaks to the universal experience of love and how we often forget about our past lovers when we move on to new ones, but the memories of past loves stay with us, and when we reconnect with those past loves, those memories come flooding back. The song is poignant as it reminds us of the beauty of young love and how special those moments with someone can be.

What a beautiful voice!!! I thought nobody can sing this song better than Joan, I'm greatly surprised and instantly I became a follower of Sara Brighman. I will listen Her music right now.

Who's Joan? You mean John Anderson? Imho, in Sarah's prime, she would have done this simple and soul-moving song justice. Sadly, her voice sounds weak, and adding too much vibrato is a good way to cover up loss of some things in a singer's voice. She needed to have carried the notes out farther in her phrasing. In this song, her style reminds me of Neil Diamond, who never sustained a note in his life.

I didn' t like dreamchaser at first, it's not as easy to listen to as Harem for example, you really have to be in a particular mood to be able to appreciate this album.... Needless to say, i love it now!! And this song is one of my favorites!
