White Christmas
Sarah McLachlan Lyrics
Jump to: Line by Line Meaning ↴
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the tree tops glisten
And children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
And may all your Christmases be white
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
I wish to have a Christmas with snow as it reminds me of my childhood holidays.
Just like the ones I used to know
I want to have a traditional Christmas like the ones I enjoyed in my youth.
Where the tree tops glisten
I long for a winter wonderland where the snow-coated trees sparkle in the sun.
And children listen
In this magical setting, children eagerly anticipate the jingle of sleigh bells and songs of the season.
To hear sleigh bells in the snow
The merry jingle of bells on a sleigh ride in the snow is the quintessential holiday experience for many.
With every Christmas card I write
As I send well wishes to loved ones, I imagine the joy of a snowy holiday season.
May your days be merry and bright
I hope that you have a happy and joyful holiday season filled with laughter and light.
And may all your Christmases be white
It is my wish that you experience the same joy I feel during a white Christmas, now and forevermore.

I'm going to put all of these songs on while I decorate my tree with my hubby. And I'll be dreaming of a white Christmas for sure cuz it doesn't snow where I live in Hawaii.
Merry Christmas Sarah!!!

It'd be great to have a glass of fine whiskey to this song. Sarah also ages like fine whiskey.
