Sash! caused an unexpected stir in the music world when they became one of only a handful of dance acts that managed to sell millions of albums and singles thus becoming a huge commercial success at the end of the 1990's.
All of the first 5 singles all reached the UK Top 3: Encore Une Fois reached Number 2 in March 1997, Ecuador number 2 in July 1997, Stay number 2 in October 1997, La Primavera number 3 in April 1998 and Mysterious Times number 2 August 1998.
Adelante was the final big single when it reached number 2 in Feburary 2000.
In 2002 came out "Ganbareh" ,a big single for the World Cup in Korea/Japan...which music was inspired of traditional organs and the wellknown beat of Sash! .
Just Around The Hill

What if the world was out of pain?
Would it be a world that's worth living in?
Without anything, that's worth a sin.
What if the world was out of hope,
To find a place, where you belong,
You said to yourself, you'll never make it that far,
Chorus:
Just around the hill,
Just around the hill,
Take a look on the other side,
Suddenly you'll see, there are many ways, to go to strain,
Just walk around, walk around the hill.
What if the world was out of love?
And all that we do, don't mean a thing,
Just take the chance, no offering, no suffering, for anything.
You're asking yourself, do you really want it that way?
That the mountain's too high.
The answer is just around the hill.
Chorus (2 times)
HmmΒ‘Βwalk around that hill
The lyrics of Sash!'s "Just Around The Hill" is an exploration of what the world could be without the vices that make or break it; pain, trouble, sin and hopelessness. The first verse asks a rhetorical question about what the world could be like if it was free of these negative aspects, but then leaves the listener with the question of whether such a world would even be worth living in without the balance of sorrow and joy. The subsequent verse follows a character struggling to find a place to belong, and while they may feel hopeless, the answer to their problem is always just out of sight, around the hill. The beauty of the song is found in the way that it acknowledges the valleys that we must go through, but still offers the promise of hope, and the realization that a walk around the hill can present many paths.
The chorus encourages the listener to turn the corner, take a look at the other side, and see the many ways they can go to avoid pain and trouble. The lyrics may come across as overly simplistic, but it is the message of hope that makes it unique. The final verse further drives home the point of taking a chance instead of wallowing in a world without love. There is no need for offerings or suffering, but to move forward and around the metaphorical hill to find one's place in the world. It is a song of encouragement and growth, as it reminds us that the way forward is not always easy, but it is always there.
