Scram C Baby Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
when you hate poor people, dad
she's throwing back the circus
killing the old man
she's going back in circles
kidding the old man
to all my dreams
and all my desires
and putting them higher
it's calling back in circles
kidding the old man
jump a high wire
I'm letting the fools out loud
and one mighty player
it's one mighty player
The lyrics to Scram C Baby's song "Player" address the theme of contradiction and hypocrisy within society. The opening lines reflect a sense of frustration towards the adoption system, highlighting the irony of someone who claims to care about children but simultaneously displays a disdain for those who are less fortunate. The mention of the father intensifies the critique, implying that this hypocrisy may be inherited or learned from parental figures.
The line "she's throwing back the circus, killing the old man" may be metaphorical, symbolizing a rejection of conventional norms and expectations. It suggests a desire for liberation from societal constraints and traditions. The repetition of the phrase "going back in circles, kidding the old man" alludes to a cycle of deception or manipulation that undermines the previous generation's beliefs or authority.
The chorus reflects a personal struggle, wherein the singer is torn between their dreams, desires, and goals. They acknowledge the need to leave behind their previous objectives and aim for higher aspirations. The phrase "calling back in circles, kidding the old man" suggests a paradoxical pattern of striving for progress while still being trapped by old habits or mindsets.
The closing lines, "jump a high wire, I'm letting the fools out loud, and one mighty player, it's one mighty player," can be interpreted as an affirmation of individuality and defiance against societal expectations. This could signify a resolve to take risks and disregard the opinions of others, embracing the role of a fearless and empowered player in navigating one's own path.
Overall, "Player" explores themes of contradiction, rebellion, and personal growth, offering a critique of societal norms while celebrating individual autonomy.
