The song Aasman Se Aaya Farishta is a beautiful romantic track composed by the legendary duo Shankar-Jaikishan for the movie An Evening in Paris (1967). The song starts with the a voice over by the singer Mohammad Rafi, introducing the celestial being 'Farishta' who has come down from the heavens to teach a lesson about love. The singer reveals his love to his beloved and claims that he has brought an image of her in his heart which he wants to show to her. He then urges her to accept his love and confesses that he is ready to do anything to prove his love.
The second stanza consists of the singer inviting his lover to learn the art of love with him. He asks her to confess her love for him and assures her that he will be there by her side. He then reveals that he left the moon behind to come to her and requests her to accept his love.
The song has a beautiful melody and the orchestra that accompanies Rafi's soulful voice creates a magical atmosphere. The lyrics, penned by the famous lyricist Hasrat Jaipuri, are simple yet poignant, and convey the message of love and longing with ease.
