Sharron's debut album Beautiful Twisted was released by Australian psych label Camera Obscura in 2002 and received rave reviews around the world. It was listed in Rolling Stone Magazine's Critics' Top Albums of 2002. After touring with US psychedelic folk band The Iditarod, she collaborated with them on an album of wintry songs and soundscapes entitled Yuletide and released by avant/experimental label Elsie and Jack in 2003.
Sharron's second solo album, Songs of Love and Loss, was recorded at home in Oxford and at Dungeon Studios in the Cotswolds. The album features Jane Griffiths on fiddle and viola, Jon Fletcher on harmonica and occasional guitar, banjo and vocals, Colin Fletcher on bass, as well as BBC Folk Award-winning fiddler Jon Boden and Grammy-nominated early music violinist Giles Lewin. The album was finished in Providence and mixed with Jeffrey Alexander (The Iditarod, Black Forest/Black Sea). Songs of Love and Loss is a natural follow-up to Beautiful Twisted, in places darker and more discordant, in others gentler and sweeter.
Sharron has been featured in The Wire, New Folk Sounds, Arthur, Ptolemaic Terrascope and Broken Face. She has been interviewed on BBC Radio 3 for 'A Place Called England' discussing the future of English folk music and recorded sessions for BBC Radio Scotland and independent radio stations across the US. Her fans include veteran folk musician Archie Fisher and Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore.
Come to Me
Sharron Kraus Lyrics

Come to me in bloom
Come to me adorned with flowers
Come to me by the full moon
Walk with me down in the greenwood
In the gold sunlight
Dance with me among the bluebells
We will plant the seeds together
We will tend them well
All the birds will sing above us
As we bring the harvest in
A year has passed and I must leave you
And return to her
Think of me and light a candle
At the centre of your heart
The lyrics of Sharron Kraus's song, Come to Me, is an invitation to a loved one to come to the singer with an open heart, during a time in full bloom and adorned with flowers under the full moon. The singer wishes to take this person on a journey to the greenwood, where they can walk under the gold sunlight and dance among the bluebells. They will plant the seeds together and nurture them, while the birds sing above them. However, their time together will be limited, as the singer must leave and return to her. She asks the loved one to think of her and light a candle at the center of their heart.
The song takes its listener on a journey, both physically and emotionally. The invitation to come to the greenwood is reminiscent of the idea of the 'green world' in literature, where characters often undergo a journey of transformation, growth and renewal. The journey through nature is also symbolic of the idea of returning to one's roots. The planting and nurturing of seeds is a metaphor for growing and tending to relationships. The lighted candle at the center of the heart is a symbol of hope and the human spirit.
