Someone Else
Soundtrack Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

In Someone Elses Mind

I'm in someone elses mind
Don't know what I'm trying to find

Like a picture on the wall
Waiting for my face to fall
I'm in someone elses mind

I'm in someone elses mind
It ain't easy it ain't kind

I'm a person you don't know
And sometimes it hurts me so
That I'm in someone elses mind

In someone elses mind
Is not exactly where I wanna be

In someone elses mind
Is not exactly what I wanted you to see
From how it used to be

In someone elses mind
Is not exactly where I wanna be

In someone elses mind
Is not exactly what I wanted you to see

From how it used to be
From how it used to be

From how it used to be
From how it used to be........

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Soundtrack's Someone Else convey a sense of confusion, uncertainty and regret - feelings that are often associated with the feeling of being lost in someone else's thoughts. The song tells a story about a person who finds themselves caught up in the thoughts and emotions of someone else, unable to distinguish their own identity and longing for a sense of belonging.

The chorus emphasizes this sentiment by repeating the line "In someone else's mind is not exactly where I wanna be," which not only emphasizes their feeling of displacement, but also suggests a sense of betrayal or disappointment. The line "It ain't easy, it ain't kind" further emphasizes the discomfort and pain the person is experiencing, as they struggle to find a sense of belonging and their own identity in someone else's mind.

Overall, Someone Else is a poignant reflection on the human experience of feeling lost and out of place, and how important it is for individuals to find their own sense of identity and belonging.

Im not a classical music listener usually but i watched Meet Joe Black after my wife died and everyone of the 11 times i watch it i cry. Even the music has the same effect. Who knows maybe Opera next for me.

This score goes perfectly well with the "heartbreaking leaving scene". Brad Pitt is brilliant and so incredibly handsome. Thomas Newman is an outstanding composer. This movie is incredible and after watching it I just had to get the soundtrack because its marvelous and special. I could never get tired of listening to "Someone else" its my favorite one from this soundtrack.
