Go Spine Go
Steam-Powered Giraffe Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Every heart, could use a beat.
Every song, could use a verb.
If you want to stand up,
Then your skeleton, is gonna need,
A spine.
Ooh, ooh. oohoohooh.

He′s charming.
(Well hello there)
Debonair.
(And pleased to meet you)
Daring, and dashing,
And just when you need him he's there.
(If transportation permits)

He′s got your back.
(Well sure)
When you pick fights with bears.
(Uhh, I would not advise that)
He'll punch a ferocious beast.
(No)
That's how much he cares.
(I, I don′t care that much)
′Cause he's,
The Spine.
Ooh, ooh, oohoohooh.

Go Spine Go.
Put on a show.
Do what you do best.
Go Spine Go.
Put on a show.
You always know best.

Need help with diction?
(Indefatigable)
Or home repair?
(Try the plunger, first)
Sowing or weaving,
He′ll do your taxes on a double dare.
(And quadruple your returns.)

Suffering from diarrhea?
(Hydration is key)
Well he's been there.
(No Rabbit. Robots can not get diarrhea.)
About three times a day.
(That′s not true folks.)
He pays for TP with your fair.
(It's impossible for me to have diarrhea)

He′s got,
Diarrhea.
Ooh, ooh, oohoohooh.

Go Spine Go.
Hold that flow.
Wait 'til after the show.
Go Spine Go.
Not on the floo'.
This is not our home.

He doesn′t have diarrhea.
(Thank you Hatchworth)
But he is a super spy.
(Uh, now hold on a second.)
He′s got some pretty cool gadgets.
(Well that is true.)
To topple governments, and the like.
(Oh boy.)

He's not really a spy.
(I appreciate that Rabbit.)
But he does love him some pie.
(Rabbit, robots can not eat.)
Eat so much pie.
Have diarrhea only the whole night.

No I won′t.
Yes you will.
(Yes you will. Yes you will)
No I won't.
If you don′t right now,
Then you will.
I said that I won't.
I′m fairly certain you will.
No I woo Woo OOo OW OW OWOWOWOWOWOWOWon't.
(OK. You got your point across)
(Yeah, you need to chill out bro.)
Because you're,

The Spine.
Ooh, ooh, oohoohooh.
The Spine
Ooh, ooh, oohoohooh.

Go Spine Go.
Put on a show.
Do what you do best.
Go Spine Go.
Put on a show.
Bring a backup pair of slacks.
Go Spine Go.
Not during the show.
The would be really gross.

Some day, I′ll quit this band.

Man, that "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOONT" from The Spine was truly a wonder. I love it.

Jasmine

I thought I had a more mature sense of humour than to laugh at robots singing about diarrhea...but in this particular instance, I can't help it! I bought this song because the itunes preview made it sound like it was just a song about the Spine...then I got to the part where they started singing about diarrhea and I was so surprised and amused that I couldn't help but laugh! The Spine's little interjections really make it, though x) This song (and just the Spine tbh) never fails to make me smile!

The Phantasm Toilet Humor is targeted towards ALL AGES,so I laughed at toilet humor as a toddler.

We learn a lot of things-- Never did I think I'd like a bunch of singing robots, especially robots singing about diarrhea.

Finn

I love how Rabbit and Hatchworth are goofy and crazy but the Spine is just like the voice of reason.

Cha

I just love you guys. I just love the fact that your enormous talent is used to perform truly beautiful songs as loony robots singing about diarrhea with all the strengh of their metal lungs. It sincerely makes me really happy.
