Captured Light
Stolas Lyrics

when you find yourself alone.
You'll find yourself alone.
You're a fool to hold the rope, you restless soul.
You'll find yourself alone.
Though you should, you can't let go.
Breathe for me, brother.
Breathe!
Why don't we look closer?
Run for it!
Spoon-feed me theoretic words
with no diuretic necessary,
gag-reflex commentary.
This is so very important,
you've got it all sorted out in boxes.
Don't be cautious!
Make me nauseous!
Let it all out!
When you shove this down my throat, I can't breathe.
When you tell me these lies, I can't see.
Do the dead even know that they're dead?
Do the innocent burn?
They will be there when you settle down.
When you find yourself alone.
You're a fool to hold the rope.
The Stolas song "Captured Light" is about feeling trapped and unable to let go of something that is weighing you down. The opening lines "They will be there when you settle down, when you find yourself alone" suggest that the person is referring to their own inner demons or struggles that will always be present regardless of where they go or what they do. The chorus "You'll find yourself alone, you're a fool to hold the rope, you restless soul" emphasizes the idea that the person is the one causing their own pain by holding onto something that is not serving them.
The second verse shifts focus to outside influences and the pressure to conform to societal norms. The line "Spoon-feed me theoretic words with no diuretic necessary, gag-reflex commentary" is a commentary on the lack of substance in the things that people are told to believe or follow blindly. The repetition of "Breathe for me, brother" and "Run for it" shows the desperation to escape and find some sense of clarity.
The bridge questions the nature of death and punishment for the innocent. The lyrics "Do the dead even know that they're dead? Do the innocent burn?" are a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the unfairness of the world we live in.
Overall, "Captured Light" is a powerful song that touches on universal themes of struggle and self-doubt. Through their poetic lyrics and poignant melody, Stolas creates a song that resonates with anyone who has ever felt held back by their own thoughts and emotions.

its awesome how Cory enriches an already amazing song, its always nice to see guest vocalists tastefully placed rather than put in as a gimmick, good shit.

DGD, Slaves, ALLB, and Strawberry Girls are going on tour. Please please please bring Stolas for a date or two and have the four guest spots played
Hell bring Donovan and complete the set. I would pay big money for that lineup
