Tim met ex-drummer Ben Davis during a cigarette break at school. Ben (who then played bass) and Tim started to play together on a regular basis until Tim invited Airin Older, a fellow classmate, to join. Ben was moved to the position of drummer and Airin filled in for Ben on bass. Marko DeSantis was added into the band after meeting Tim back stage at a Superdrag concert. The pair apparently met because Tim was wearing a suit that resembled the one Marko wore to the show. Tim asked Marko to join the band before even hearing Marko play a single note on the guitar.
In the Summer of 2004, the critically acclaimed "Vans Warped Tour" featured Sugarcult, who were, in fact, the final band to play at the year's tour.
After the tour, the Band teamed up with Green Day, and New Found Glory on their tour of the US, and were a huge success.
In 2006, The EA Games title "Burnout 3: Takedown" featured the song "Memory" from the Album "Palm Trees and Power Lines" and was an instant success.
After years of touring and recording, Ben was asked to leave the band due to his extensive alcoholism. Ben has said he would rather be sober out of the band than drunk and still in the band. Kenny Livingston was drafted into the band after recording Palm Trees And Power Lines and touring with the band.

Bouncing Off the Walls
Sugarcult Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And I'm looking like a fool again (whoa),
I threw away my reputation,
One more song for the radio station.
I'm bouncing off the walls again (whoa),
And I'm looking like a fool again (whoa),
Waking up on the bathroom floor,
And my heart's beating out of my chest (whoa),
And this town is still making me sick (whoa),
And every penny from my last paycheck,
I've loaned on you.
I'm bouncing off the walls again (whoa),
And I'm looking like a fool again (whoa),
So go ahead and take a picture,
And hang it up so you can tear me down.
I don't care (whoa),
Cause I'm still here (whoa),
And I've got nothing left to loose,
With all the years I've wasted on you!
(Go, go, go)
Momma and daddy's got the best cocaine,
Ritalin is never gonna be the same,
Twenty four hours on an empty brain,
I got my finger on the trigger and you're in my way.
I'm bouncing off the walls again (whoa),
And I'm looking like a fool again (whoa),
I threw away my reputation,
One more song for the radio station.
I'm bouncing off the walls again (whoa),
And I'm looking like a fool again (whoa),
And I'm bouncing off the walls again (whoa),
And I'm looking like a fool again,
I'm bouncing off the walls again.
The lyrics to Sugarcult's song "Bouncing Off the Walls" are a reflection of the chaotic mindset of the singer. The repeated phrase "I'm bouncing off the walls again" is a metaphor for the feeling of being out of control and unable to contain oneself. The lines "And I'm looking like a fool again" suggest that the singer is aware of their actions but feels powerless to stop them. They have lost their reputation by continuously making a spectacle of themselves, with "one more song for the radio station" implying that they are addicted to the attention.
The next few lines paint a bleak picture of the singer's life. They wake up on the bathroom floor, suggesting they have been drinking heavily, and "pull myself back together just to fall once more" implies that they are in a cycle of self-destruction. The phrase "And every penny from my last paycheck, I've loaned on you" suggests that they are financially supporting someone, likely a love interest. However, this person is not good for them and is contributing to their downfall.
The final verse is the most disturbing, with references to cocaine and Ritalin. The line "Twenty-four hours on an empty brain, I got my finger on the trigger and you're in my way" suggests that they are on edge and that their erratic behavior could lead to violent outbursts. Overall, the lyrics suggest that the singer is trapped in a cycle of addiction and destructive behavior.
