THE ALFEE Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of The Alfee's song 流砂のように talks about a person who is trying to move on from their past by letting go of someone they hold dear. The first two lines describe the scene of a sunset on the deserted ruins that are now stained with red. Then, the singer reveals their emotions, having cried to the point of heartbreak just to forget about the person they once loved. However, the night is quiet, and they find themselves in a state between life and death, lost in the endless sea of sand. When they turn to look back, they see nothing but a mirage. Their tears fall and vanish like sand, making them wonder if the days they spent together were only an illusion. Despite all this, the singer continues to live and wishes to move forward just like the flowing sand, accepting that even if their life comes to an end, their soul will continue on forever.
