Confide In Me

Should I offer some assistance?
Should it matter who you are?
We all get hurt by love
And we all have our cross to bear
But in the name of understanding now
Our problems should be shared
Confide in me confide in me
I can keep a secret and throw away the key
But sometimes to release it
Is to set our children free
We all get hurt by love
And we all have our cross to bear
But in the name of understanding now
Our problems should be shared
Confide in me confide in me
Confide in me confide in me
Stick or twist, the choice is yours
Hit or miss, what's mine is yours
Stick or twist, the choice is yours
Hit or miss, what's mine is yours
We all get hurt by love
And we all have our cross to bear
But in the name of understanding now
Our problems should be shared
Confide in me confide in me
Confide in me confide in me
Confide in me confide in me
The lyrics of Tame Impala's song "Confide in Me" speak to the importance of trust and openness in relationships, especially when it comes to facing difficulties together. The singer stands at a distance, observing someone who may be in need of help or support. They question whether they should offer assistance and whether it should matter who the person is. The lines "Should I offer some assistance? / Should it matter who you are?" highlight the universal nature of emotional struggles and the need for empathetic connection.
The chorus emphasizes the importance of confiding in someone, expressing a willingness to keep secrets and provide a safe space for sharing. The singer suggests that releasing these secrets can be liberating, not only for oneself but also for future generations, symbolized by the line "Is to set our children free."
The song goes on to present a choice between sticking with the current situation or taking a risk and making a change. The lines "Stick or twist, the choice is yours / Hit or miss, what's mine is yours" reflect the uncertainty that comes with decision-making in relationships.
Overall, "Confide in Me" encourages open communication, empathy, and the sharing of burdens as a means of understanding and supporting one another.
