There was a bet between TD´s American promoter and the band in a small Sushi restaurant in Los Angeles during TD´s performance on the West Coast end of 2008. The Promoter just joked around by asking how it would sound like if TD would record all time top 40 stuff. After a big laugh, everybody thought about the´impossible´project. What a surreal idea if TD could do a most modern cover version of songs lots of people know, love and would have chosen as their own soundtrack for various parts of their life. ´If you do it I´ve got a good offer, if you fail, all of you have to ride the distance LA - Las Vegas by bike – so it´s a bet…´The rest will become history – here it is, TD´s ´just-for-fun´ project: UNDER COVER !!

The lyrics of “Space Oddity” by Tangerine Dream tell the story of an astronaut named Major Tom who is leaving Earth and heading into space. Ground Control commands Major Tom to take his protein pills and put on his helmet before he commences his countdown. As the countdown reaches its end, Major Tom’s rocket blasts off into space. Once he is above Earth, Major Tom reports back to Ground Control that everything is going well and that he is floating in space in a most peculiar way. The stars look different than he has ever seen them before. As he continues on his journey, Major Tom realizes there is nothing he can do to change his fate. Even though he is feeling very still, he believes that his spaceship knows which way to go. Major Tom sends one last message to his wife, telling her that he loves her very much before his communication fades out.
