Yo no quiero plata, véndeme tranquilidad

Overall Meaning

The first verse of Tego Calderón's song Llévatelo Todo is addressing someone called "el negro lliguiri" who Tego assumes knows that he is back. However, this person, Jey, feigns surprise and Tego says they have nothing between them. The rest of the song is Tego calling for people to be honest with him, giving him peace instead of money, and offering his own unique voice to the genre. The chorus repeats the phrase "llévatelo todo" which means "take everything" but Tego insists that when we die, we cannot take anything with us, meaning that material possessions are not important.

The lyrics in the song are filled with metaphors and wordplay, common in Latin American music. Tego Calderón is known for his conscious lyrics that are often critical of societal issues. In Llévatelo Todo, he criticizes the way people live for wealth and material possessions, missing out on what is important in life. Additionally, he speaks of himself as "the humilde campo" which can translate to "the humble countryside" or "the humble field" in Spanish. Here, he implies that although he is different from other popular reggaeton artists, his voice deserves to be heard.
