They made a name for themselves by consistently touring over the United States. Rather than signing with a known label, they initially decided to found their own, Chunksaah Records (named after their long-time friend Timmy Chunks), but are now releasing their albums on Epitaph Records.
The Bouncing Souls are one of the best selling and longest lived of the punk bands from New Jersey, following the legacy of previously successful punk bands Adrenalin OD and the Misfits.

The Bouncing Souls Lyrics

Beaten down to the ground.
You'll be back in a flash this won't be the last you'll
Find what there is to be found anyway that's what they say
I don't know what I'm supposed to be in. You've gotta be in
It to win it when it's your last chance sin. There are people
With stuff and some without but in the end
What does it mean to win.
There's no such thing as a "sin"
I guess I'll do whatever I want whatever that is then I know I'll win.
You've gotta be in it to win it when it's you last chance sin
In "Whatever I Want," The Bouncing Souls provide a truthful commentary on the complexities of life choices and the challenges that come with pursuing one's dreams. The opening line, "Pride's a lot to swallow when you've been beaten down to the ground," sets the tone for the rest of the song, conveying a sense of humility in the face of failure. The song acknowledges that although obstacles may get in your way and cause you to stumble, you can't give up. Instead, you must pick yourself up and keep moving forward, holding on to the hope that you will eventually find what you are looking for.
The lyrics also express a sentiment about society's obsession with winning and success. The line, "There are people with stuff and some without, but in the end, what does it mean to win?" suggests that winning is not everything and that success should be measured by more than just material possessions. It encourages the listener to define their own meaning of success and not simply follow the status quo.
The chorus, "I guess I'll do whatever I want whatever that is then I know I'll win," is a call to action, urging the listener to be true to themselves and pursue their passions, which ultimately lead to a sense of fulfillment and "winning" in life. The phrase "you gotta be in it to win it when it's your last chance sin" drives home the message that life is short, and if you want to achieve your goals, you have to take risks and go after what you want with everything you have.
