Formed in 2004, The Cab consists of members Alex DeLeon (vocals), Joey Thunder (bass guitar), Chantry Johnson (lead guitar, backing vocals), and Dave Briggs (drums, percussion). They gained popularity through the music-sharing platform MySpace, where their demos and early releases attracted a growing fanbase.
In January 2006, The Cab signed to the local label Olympus Records; however, they did not release any material during this period. After they handed a demo to Panic! at the Disco's Spencer Smith and Jon Walker at a show featuring Cobra Starship, Boys Like Girls, and Cartel. Smith helped the band to sign with Decaydance Records in May 2007.
Over the years, The Cab continued to refine their sound, blending elements of pop, rock, and R&B into their music. They released EPs like "Symphony Soldier" and "Lock Me Up," further showcasing their versatility and evolving musical style.
In an interview with All Access, Alexander DeLeon stated that the band was currently going on hiatus, as he worked as a solo artist under the name Bohnes. DeLeon hinted that there could be a potential return for The Cab in the future. In January of 2020, a new song was teased on X, accompanied with an announcement of a new album in development.

Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, ooh
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, ooh
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, ooh
Come feel my heart
It's beating like a drum and I confess
When you're around
And there's nothing I can do
I just gravitate towards you
You're pulling on me like the moon
I just wanna get you sideways
I say anything I can to get me more than just a dance
Tell me where to put my hands
You know that you could be my favorite one-night stand
You get me higher
What would you do if I told you that I la, la, la, la, loved you?
Do if I said it tonight?
What would you do if I told you that I la, la, la, la, loved you?
Cause you know I la, la, la, lie
You're like a song
A beautiful symphony to my eyes
So take me on
I wanna sing along all through the night
I'm not like the other boys
Cause with you I've got no choice
You make me wanna lose my voice
I just wanna get you sideways
No, I'm not the type to lie
But I might just start tonight
Let me turn off all these lights
You know that you could be my favorite lullaby
You get me higher
What would you do if I told you that I la, la, la, la, loved you?
Do If I said it tonight?
What would you do if I told you that I la, la, la, la, loved you?
Cause you know I la, la, la, lie
Like a symphony
Like a symphony
Like a symphony tonight
Like a symphony
Like a symphony
Like a symphony tonight
Sounds like a symphony
Like a symphony
Like a symphony tonight
Like a symphony
Like a symphony
Like a symphony tonight
What would you do if I told you that I la, la, la, la, loved you?
Do If I said it tonight?
What would you do if I told you that I la, la, la, la, loved you?
Cause you know I la, la, la, la, la, ooh
What would you do if I told you that I la, la, la, la, loved you?
Do if I said it tonight?
What would you do if I told you that I la, la, la, la, loved you?
Cause you know I la, la, la, lie
Ooh
The Cab's song La La is a whimsical love song that captures the feeling of being completely enamored with someone. The opening lines of the song, "Come feel my heart, It's beating like a drum and I confess," set the tone for the entire song. The singer is confessing his love and describing the intensity of his feelings by comparing his heartbeat to a marching band. He's completely drawn to the person he's singing to, unable to resist their pull.
The chorus of the song is a playful exploration of what would happen if the singer were to be honest about his feelings. He asks, "What would you do if I told you that I la, la, la, la, loved you? Do if I said it tonight?" This is the heart of the song, as the singer is caught between the desire to share his feelings and the fear of rejection. The repeated "la, la, la"s are reminiscent of childhood sing-alongs or nonsense syllables used in music as filler, adding to the lighthearted feeling of the song, despite the weighty subject matter.
Throughout the song, the singer uses musical metaphors to describe his feelings. He compares his object of affection to a symphony, saying "You're like a song, A beautiful symphony to my eyes" and later "Like a symphony, Like a symphony, Like a symphony tonight." He also says "You know that you could be my favorite lullaby," again using music to describe the feelings he has for the person he's singing to. The overall effect is a song that is joyful, playful, and full of the dizzying feeling of falling in love.
