Just saw the movie an hour ago. Immediate thoughts were, he could’ve been so much more in life but was held down and fed lies and pills. Truly an American legend that never had the opportunity to be more than what he wished for. He paved the way for stage presence and celebrity persona.
Cleocatra
Theres more behind it. He had legit problems like autoimmune disorders so he took a lot of pain pills. He might have died early even if no pills and drugs.

Yes! I felt like the film barely scratched the surface and I just want to know more. The hardest part to watch was Las Vegas and how heavily he was manipulated by Parker to stay there. It seemed that Elvis felt an enormous amount of loyalty to him and really saw him as a father since his own father was somewhat unstable and distant. I really wish Elvis could have seen the world like he wanted. What an incredible person and this film honors him greatly. R.I.P. Elvis 🙏🕊

How could he have been any more than he was? If you lived during his time you’d know he was everything …There was no one bigger and there still isn’t. His time was very different than now. A simpler time. A much more wonderful time and believe it or not, he had it all.

He could've been a worldwide legend tbh

@Cleocatra Prescription drugs were more potent in those days with a lot more side effects. It was not unusual to get hooked. Elvis could have slowed down, but that wasn’t his nature. Even without the pills, the stress probably would have killed him anyway.

Fun fact: When Tom Hanks talked to Priscilla about Colonel Parker in preparation for the role, she actually had mostly positive things to say about him. According to her he was extremely greedy but still a likeable guy. She even went to his funeral when he died in 97 and held a euology that mostly praised him but also joked about him being a con man who would probably find a way to screw the funeral guests out of money even after his death lol.
Caitlin McGee
Well she was probably unaware at the time of all the shady stuff he did since it was hidden for years
Nilegård
@Caitlin McGee Well, not when Hanks was talking to her. That was just before they made the movie.

Well said, and in the movie Elvis said the snowman strikes again...lmao
