In 2014, while all old members (Josh, Stephen, Michael Bono, Sean Tighe) were still in high school, the group began writing songs and playing shows and The Faim was born. Some cracking demos were produced and with the world of online music – you never know who could be listening. Incredibly, the band’s music found its way to renowned rock producer John Feldmann. In 2017 Feldmann invited the band to L.A to record a song. That session turned into more songs and now a debut album is in the works.
The Faim dropped their anthemic debut single ‘Saints Of The Sinners’ on Feb 6th. The dynamic song, a co-write with Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz received its world premier on the UK’s Radio 1 Rock Show with Dan P Carter. The Faim’s debut E.P is set for release later this year.
Summer Is a Curse
The Faim Lyrics

Black tint on the windows
I can't see what the future holds
But I wanna know
I tip toe on the dirt road
Too hot for the devil
I can't see what the future holds
It's like hearts don't bleed like mine
All we need is time
The summer is a curse and I can't let go
If you never try then you never know
A broke city with a broken heart
The summer is a curse and we fall apart
Dark days and a deeper cold
If you never try then you never know
A broke city with a broken heart
The summer is a curse and we fall apart
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh
Sea breeze you convince me
Yeah I don't need this city
I could leave in a heart beat
And you gotta know, yeah you gotta know
Hearts don't bleed like mine
All we need is time
The summer is a curse and I can't let go
If you never try then you never know
A broke city with a broken heart
The summer is a curse and we fall apart
Dark days and a deeper cold
If you never try then you never know
A broke city with a broken heart
The summer is a curse and we fall apart
The summer is a curse and I can't let go
If you never try then you never know
Broke city with a broken heart
We fall apart
The summer is a curse and I can't let go
If you never try then you never know
A broke city with a broken heart
The summer is a curse and we fall apart
Dark days and a deeper cold
If you never try then you never know
Broke city with a broken heart
The summer is a curse and we fall apart
The summer is a curse and I can't let go
If you never try then you never know
Broke city with a broken heart
The summer is a curse and we fall apart
The lyrics of The Faim's "Summer Is a Curse" paint a picture of a bleak outlook on life in the midst of summer. The opening lines "Burnt lips when the wind blows, black tint on the windows" describe the uncomfortable heat and the need to block out the sun. The uncertainty of the future is also emphasized, "I can't see what the future holds, but I wanna know." The chorus repeats the phrase "The summer is a curse," suggesting that the season brings more problems than enjoyment.
The second verse describes the desire to leave a broken city and a broken heart. The sea breeze offers an opportunity for escape, and the singer thinks that they could leave at any moment. The bridge provides a glimmer of hope with the lyrics, "Hearts don't bleed like mine, all we need is time." However, the repetition of the chorus at the end reinforces the idea that the summer is a curse, and there seems to be no escape from the harsh reality.
Overall, the song is a melancholic portrayal of summer, and the lyrics emphasize the difficulty of escaping the problems that come with the season.
