February 18th 2008 they released their second album, Join With Us.

Stylisticly, The Feeling have a debt of gratitude to the 70s, particularly bands such as 10cc, Supertramp, Pilot, Buggles, Queen, Stackridge, and other "progressive pop" acts. They are not averse to wearing their heart on their sleeve at gigs, playing covers of tunes by their favourite artists (such as 'Video Killed The Radio Star' by Buggles).
The Feeling have also followed the 'progressive' tradition of the concept album, with Twelve Stops and Home being a concept album about lost and unrequited love. The album starts with a relationship having just broken up, then follows through with the various emotions of the protagonist from hopeless dreamer to turning to drink for comfort, and finally slumping home.

Last time round for all we know
Wonder what the time is in London
As they tear this world apart
Step by step it breaks my heart
Wonder what the time is in London
Thirty dead and one teenage gun man
I wonder what the time is in London, without you
I get up early every morning without you
I open up the blind and let the dawn in without you
And then I think about growing older without you
And my blood runs a little colder without you
It's raining hard in North Virginia
Just like London town
Tales of screams from giant screens
Full of fear and full of beans
Wonder what the news is in London
Tell me what I've always known
Live is love and love's at home
Wonder if they miss me in London
These are the things that make us glad we're still alive
Even though your heart's in the dungeon
I wonder what the time is in London, without you
I get up early every morning without you
I open up the blind and let the dawn in without you
And then I think about growing older without you
And my blood runs a little colder without you
It's raining hard in North Virginia
Just like London town
It's raining hard in North Virginia
Just like London town
(Without you, without you)
It's raining hard in North Virginia
(Without you)
Just like London town, yeah
(Without you)
It's raining hard in North Virginia
(Without you)
Just like London town
(Without you)
The Feeling's song Without You is a moving reflection on the impact of absence and loss in the face of chaos, destruction and death. The first lines "Winters come and summers go, last time round for all we know, wonder what the time is in London" invoke the passage of time and the universal experience of transience, suggesting that despite our vulnerability and finite existence, we share a common fate. Against this backdrop, the song develops a sense of unease and sorrow as the world disintegrates ("as they tear this world apart, step by step it breaks my heart"), and communication and connection become more tentative ("wonder what the news is in London, wonder if they miss me in London"). At the same time, the song affirms the importance of love and home as the sources of meaning and security ("life is love and love's at home"), which in turn throw into sharper relief the emptiness and coldness of absence ("my blood runs a little colder without you").
The repeated refrain "I get up early every morning without you, I open up the blind and let the dawn in without you, and then I think about growing older without you, and my blood runs a little colder without you" encapsulates the central theme of the song, namely the incremental erosion of hope and vitality that accompanies loss and separation. The simile "It's raining hard in North Virginia just like London town" further underscores the emotional parallel between the singer's location and London, which serves as a symbol of both the distance and the longing that the singer feels. In the face of uncertainty and sorrow, the song poignantly acknowledges the preciousness of life and the enduring pain of absence.
