The Honorary Title was a rock band from Brooklyn, New York composed of Jarrod Gorbel, Aaron Kamstra, Jon Wiley, and Adam Boyd. Gorbel became known for his dark sense of humor, which often worked its way into the band's songs.
Their first release was a self-titled EP. They received much attention and did major touring after they released a full length album on Doghouse Records in 2004 entitled, "Anything Else But the Truth". The album was recorded in Nashville and New York with producer Roger Moutenot who has also worked with Yo La Tengo and Guster. Videos are available for the singles "Everything I Once Had", "Bridge and Tunnel", & "Frame by Frame".
On October 24, 2009 Jarrod announced that The Honorary Title would play their final show on Friday, November 20, 2009. Gorbel released a solo EP called Ten Years Older on his 2010 acoustic tour with Dustin Dobernig. In an interview with weworemasks.com, Gorbel says, "It’s considered a solo session, but…The Honorary Title might be over." He also said he is working on a solo LP. He continues to record and play music, but under his name.

Or just the opposite?
I love you and I miss you
What else is there to say?
It takes a hell of a lot more to complete this
Far more, far more to recreate
Far more, far more, far more, far more
When you decide how much time
Do you let, do you let, do you let, do you let
Pass before
These false starts, these small meals
They're for my, for my starving hands
Just treading, just treading shallow waters
Avoiding the drop, the drop in the ocean floor
Far more, far more, far more, far more
Far more, far more than we possess
How much, how much, how much
How much longer, girl
How much longer do we need to wait?
For a moment when the blare of the tv subsides
And then song fills the air, playing every night
A change in the key feels like a change in the season
I pretend almost every, every other night
That this body and its entirety belongs to me, every breath
It comes and goes
It comes and goes
All night
Well, you can't dictate the way, the way I'm gonna feel
No matter what, no matter what I'm forced to see
I'll be the one free of jealousy
Well, you can't dictate the way, the way I'm gonna feel
No matter what, no matter what I'm forced to see
I'll be the one free of jealousy
Far more, far more, far more, far more
Far more, far more than we can take
So well, so well, so well rehearsed
I coordinate this kind of mess
I'll do it like, do it like, do it like
Do it like, do it like, do it like
Do it like, do it like, do it like we used to
Like we used to do
I love you and I miss you
What else is there to say?
The Honorary Title's "Far More" is an introspective ballad that ponders whether the sound they are hearing is the end of something or the start of something new. The lyrics suggest that they have love in their heart for someone that they miss, but that it takes a lot more than just that to complete something. The song then takes on a more existential tone, as the lyrics suggest that there is far more to recreate, far more than they can take, and that they are just treading water, avoiding the drop in the ocean floor.
The chorus repeats "far more" repeatedly, almost chant-like, as if emphasizing the point that there is always something more to strive for. The bridge of the song seems to suggest that the singer is struggling with their own feelings, trying to pretend that everything is okay even though it's not. They long for the moment when everything can be put aside and they can just enjoy the music, letting it fill the air.
The ending of the song brings it back to the fact that the singer loves and misses someone, and that they will do what they can to coordinate the mess that is their life. The repeated refrain of “do it like we used to” suggests a longing for a simpler time when they could just love and be loved without all the complications of life.
